My first mistake!!!

  • Just made a mistake on the Marseille game, I backed instead of

I’ve got a free bet on the back profits of £48 and backed again about £50 on smarkets
It’s still 0-0, I’m fairly new, is there a way I can get out this?! Maybe using betfair exchange?

Any help would be gladly taken lol!!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I’ve made a right mess of this lol, I always double check except this time and made 2 mistakes!

So I backed Marseille at 1.9 with free 50 bet (£45.45 return)

Backed again on smarkets at 1.96 with £49
(Used the qualifier calculator instead of free bet!!!!)

I would imagine you just lay to cover both the free bet and the live bet but I’ll let someone more experienced post details if they can…

Another mistake is using a free bet on a result with such low odds, but I guess you wouldn’t have done that if you’d used the right calculator.

Yeah I literally wasn’t thinking. I had just done the qualifying bet so my mind was still thinking qualifying bet odds….. Terrible choice in life!!

lay both bets but do it quick as odds will rise longer it stays 0-0 or at least lay the back bet which isn’t free

Well, we all cock up from time to time. I saw a boosted price (10.0) on SkyBet for Spurs to win 2-0 today. I laid it with £21 at Smarkets, before trying to back the bet, but by the game kicked off as I pressed ‘place bet’. Odds then dropped to 8.0, so I decided to leave it for a bit. Got a little nervous when Spurs scored, but was mightily relieved when Leicester equalised.

Mistakes can be beneficial as well as pricey.

Have you layed your mistakes? I see the lay odds are pretty crappy compared to your bets.

Wait till half time so the odds are not fluctuating. You should then lay both bets. Make sure you calculate properly as I am assuming the first bet is not stake returned.

Yeah I don’t mind about loosing the free bet, just don’t want to loose the other. Think I will be down about 15 quid i reckon
