New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins

  • Willy hill enhancement again, Odell Beckham to score a TD enhanced to 3.0. Laying in Betfair at 2.28. Nice couple of quid to be had.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

What do you mean by underlayed Tony?

For maximum potential profit, you could lay it for just enough to cover any loss, ~£10.50 (before 5% commission). Your liability at the exchange is reduced but you’ll only profit if the bookie bet wins. It’s basically having a punt but without any risk.

As above mate… I do this with a lot of bets as I’d rather the punt than pocket a couple of quid here and there… For me it’s all about removing the risk and basically betting for free

    Happy daze (boom boom!)

Laid at 2.5… I must have been on betfair at the “bookie offer goes live, lay price spikes” time and didn’t realise.

This phenomenon of the lay prices spiking when a bookie puts out an offer is making me think that there could be money to be made here. It is not unusual for the lay price to rise a good 0.5 – 1.0 points, and then settle back at the ‘right’ price before the off.

I looked last night before bed and saw that for this offer, the lay price had come down to 2.08 with a good hour until kick off. As I said, I laid at 2.5 about 2 hours earlier. Not a massive window of opportunity, but given that you would basically be trading the price on the exchange you would only be limited by the liquidity of the market, rather than the max £10 that bookies impose.

Anyway, enough rambling, just wondered what others thought?

I got 2.28 in the end as I noticed it was slowly going down again. Underlayed though like yourself in order to get a better profit if he scored. With the odds being in favour for him to score (8/13) I tend to take those on.

Re the chance to make more money when the prices spike and then fall, it looks like a good idea to test this out.
