Odds boosters

  • How do I take advantage of these?

For example, let’s say smarkets have the following odds:

arsenal to win: 1.5 (back), 2 (lay)
newcastle to win: 1.7 (back), 2.2 (lay)

And at the betting site they’re doing a booster for arsenal and newcastle both to win:

arsenal and newcastle to win: 3

How do I split the bet at smarkets? Do I place £9.52 against arsenal and £10.48 against newcastle?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

You can do a sequential lay but only if the matches are at different times. If the matches are on at the same time then nothing you can do really.

Just to add, if you are looking at sequential games, you obv need to make sure it’s even profitable.

In your example the lay odds were 2.0 and 2.2, which gives combined lay odds of 4.4, clearly NOT profitable against the notional bookie boost of 3.0 😉

Don’t forget that lay odds can also change between events. It’s less likely to happen enough to hurt too much with footy, but if it was a 3 horse Acca for example, you really need to be careful as a lot can happen to change a horses odds, particularly as most boosted horse accas are (or used to be) offered in the mornings, well before the racing starts.
