Question on early pay outs and calculators

  • Relatively new at this. Have been using your early pay out calculators. Earlier I placed £10 on Man City at 1.4, and laid them at 1.51, so there was a minimal loss of less than a quid before the early payout. When the pay out kicked in didn’t back them at the exchange because the odds were like 1.03. I wanted to see if Wolves would bring it back to 2-2, when they got it 1-2, should I have taken the odds of 1.11, to make a very minimal profit. My thinking which may be completely wrong, was to hope Man City didn’t end up winning then I would win both sides. Is this good strategy or dumb? As I said a newbie. If you could take the time to comment I would appreciate it. Thx

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Hi @spoon,

I think you may find my early payout offers guide useful…

    https://matchedbettingblog.com/bet365-early-payout-2up-offer/

The problem with backing such a heavy favourite pre-match is that it doesn’t give you much of a potential profit due to the low odds. You stood to win around £13.00 if Man City went two goals up and failed to win. With such a small profit, your qualifying loss of around £0.80 was actually quite large as Wolves making a comeback from two goals down is rather unlikely. It’s only really worth doing low odds selections if you can keep your qualifying loss to a few pence.

You’ll find some tips on picking selections in the guide anyway. If you have any further questions on it, just give me a shout.

    Hope it helps.

    Matt

Just a follow up to the guide you linked. This part.

One of the best things about 2UP offers is that they don’t require a huge bankroll.

Looking at the example above, you needed just £50.00 for the stake at Bet365 and £65.42 to cover the liability at Betfair. “You didn’t need any extra funds for the additional back bet.”

The question is, surely yo do need extra funds? Or do you mean, you already have the pay out, so it can come from that? Where does the £65.42 come from?
    Thanks.
