Random questions from begginer please help :)

  • Hi again i have some questions i would love to get answers to.

1- It seems pretty obvious that you will win more when you start as a new customer to every bookie because bonus are bigger. ( i think so :p ) Im wondering what would be an estimation of the average month for a new customer compared to an existing one. I have no idea if its double or something ?

2- When creating an account , what documents do i have to send to them to clear inscription? Is Passport/Id enough or house bill and bank account details is required ?
Can i use only SKRILL to do all of that ? Basically can i start matched betting only with a skrill account ( with money ) and a passport ? would i need something else ?

4- what makes the difference beetween a good and average matched better ? Dont consider the learning curve , lets say they have all have the basics skills , why some make more than others ? just by spending more times ? Does having more cash available at betting exchanges and bookies gives you better oportunities ?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

As in most things in life, the ability to think for yourself is important ,not relying on being spoonfed.

Honestly patrick, this is a newbies board. They are newbies! Naturally there are questions!

    1. You get an idea of the profit possible just look at the profit log, I think its about £500 per month plus whatever sign ups you do. Plus whatever offers beyond the basic ones blogged on here you do. Minus the the offers at bookies that you are restricted from.

    2. Passport, utility bill, copy of credit card. They are getting more and more strict. I had betfair ask me to have my documents verified by a community leader and sign them before sending them. There is another thread here where Coral seem to be asking for physical copies (not just scans) of the documents.

    3. Numeracy skills are a plus, including the ability to count.

    4. More time. Understanding betting. Understanding value of an offer why is money back 2nd more profitable than money back 2nd to SP. When is an offer not value. Some ppl stop at simple matched betting, you can go a step further and get on the acca insurance offers, extra place offers, price boosts etc. More money in exchange helps. Keeping your accounts open helps (some ppl suck at this like me).

Hey patrick…. ive been playing poker as a job since 10 years ago , and i always helped the noob to learn faster , even it was bad for me , more sharks in the game meaning less money. In this case it doesnt even affect your winnings so give me a break. I know i could probably find all that by myself except it would have take me a huge amount of time. A forum is made for help each others no ?…. Think for myself answer on a newbie thread. god you seems like a great guy to spend nights out with. ..

Anyway… Thanks Fog_blog for your answers . Everything more clear now. Cheers

Be careful to read the t & c’s for each bookie if using a skrill account. Some only give you the initial free bets if you have deposited with credit or debit card

I was answering your final point 4,where you asked about what makes the difference between a good and average match better.

I still stand by what I said, that together with being able to think on your feet and not always having to refer back to the calculator.

Also I think you have aimed far too low on your Bet365 deposit bonus Fog.

We have debated this topic before and the threads will still be on here.

You should be aiming to extract at least £180 from the £200 deposit bonus.

Also there is (or at least was ) a £50 first time mobile bonus which shouldn’t be missed.

It actually does effect my winnings as the increase in the uptake in matchbetting has made all the bookies more aware of the lost profit taken out by matchbetters.

For those who were match betting this time last year, the opportunites this May are way down on last year for instance.

There’s not much football on these days patrick, I picked one big game as an example. I prefer to go for the big games instead of standing out with £100/£200 on an obscure match that oddsmonkey found. I think I mentioned that you could find closer matches.

But yes, there is a thread where patrick contributed before and came up with a splendid match for the back and lay where you could almost break even. Also bear in mind smarkets gives 0% commission on QPR games which could save more money.

No big games at present , you must be joking.
European Champions League final taking place tomorrow, you can probably get a good betting match on say the draw.

Emm. Yeah. That’s the example I gave pat. The lowest QL seemed to be home win. Wouldn’t let you out with just £20 loss after roll over on that kind of match.

one last question guy , can you do all the matched betting with all money transiting only to a skrill / neteller account ? or do some betting platforms forces you to cashout on ” standard ” bank account ? . Actually im not residing in UK but i have family who does , so i would like to know that , in this case i could use their ID/papers/computer to do the job but better if no money goes to their account , i have nothing to hide its just lots more easy if that doesnt.

oh and last one 🙂 is it ok to be a UK resident only ? or do you need to be uk citizen ? in the case of resident only what papers the bookie will ask ? utility bill ? UK bank account ? you need UK adress on passport ?

That completely depends on the bookie. Most bookies that are mentioned on this forum are UK ones, and some allow customers from other countries. and some don’t. and some welcome your custom but don’t allow UK customers free bets (like betstars have been known to do) The only surefire way to find out is to read the T+Cs. same for IDs.
