Reduction Factor-difference between exchange and bookie.

  • I’ve never took the time to understand this before. Can someone explain why there is a difference?

    Bet won with bookie:-

Won £50 less than expected at the bookies.
Lost £68 less than expected at the exchange.

    Why the difference?

    Cheers.

When a horse withdraws, the bookie and the exchange calculate how to re-price your bet (to take account of the better chance of your horse winning with less competition), but using different methods (rule 4 and reduction factors). The difference is favourable to us matched betters, so long as you get your lay on before the reduction is applied.
