Reversed bet

  • I bet each way on a horse at odds of 26. I was going for an extra place. The race was delayed then only 2 horses ran, one of which was the one I bet on. This horse then won. Paddy paid out at £320. I quickly withdrew £306 leaving £40 (gubbed account anyway). Smarkets then heavily reduced my liability and took just £41.

Paddy then realised and classed my account as being -£280 balance. The betting history showed the bet as reversed. A few minutes later they classed it as won again and the £40 was back. I quickly withdrew this too. Both payments show in my banking app as pending.

A few minutes later Paddy had again classed the bet as reversed and the account is now in the minus again. Soon after they settled the bet as £65 and my account now shows as -255. In the ‘withdrawal’ section of paddy the pending section says there are no pending withdrawals. I hope this to mean that the money has already gone hence the minus figure on the balance. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did it pan out?

Assuming the payment completes into my bank, what do you think Paddy will do and what can they legally do? I don’t care for the account anyway.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

For anyone who finds themselves in the same position, the money hit my bank this morning (the very next morning). No email from Paddy and when I went back into the account they have credited my account with 225 bringing the account to 0. So, erm, I guess they aren’t chasing it then.

Will test at some point to see if I can put a bet on.
