Unibet …beware …money stolen
-
Hi guys …had an issue about 5 weeks ago whereby my Unibet account was “hacked” and 140 pounds balance stolen. This occurred pretty much around the time they switched Stan James across. Anyway, I was alerted by Unibet themselves via email stating “we have noticed suspicious activity on your account.” My password was regularly changed as I do on all accounts. Having probably 20 different betting accounts I’ve had no such issues. Anyway, the money had been wagered all on live roulette (conveniently into the coffers of the company). After a five week long investigation I received a reply stating pretty much “it’s not our fault” as expected. No attempt at any compensation offered. So beware – if your money is stolen you will get bugger all help or chance of recovering it. Having read other shady stories identical to this from other Unibet customers I would avoid or keep a very low balance.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

You should ask to see a full log of all log-ins to your account.
Depending on how you normally access it something may show up.
+0Their reply Bob was that “we believe your data was harvested from another source.” Probably no evidence. More worrying is that this has happened to various others.
+0What you’re saying is theft so you should follow up more
If you really believe it’s them then the gambling commission should probably be involved…. but do you honestly think they are faking false logins and roulette losses to steal money?
Like bob says they should be able to share more details if they realise you’re taking it serious.
Does sound v odd, maybe there were some stan James redundancies and someone is being a dick to get revenge.+0Betman, it’s sinister although not saying I believe they’ve stolen the cash. However, there are multiple online stories I’ve seen stating the same. They will ultimately fall back on their T’s and C’s instead of having a morally right approach of aiding the customer.
+0Who method do you deposit with?
If it is Credit/Debit card then you should consider a chargeback on any deposits up to the value that was taken.
+0Always credit and debit card yes. I did think that but unsure how would go about it.
+0As Unibet won’t help, you have to ring your bank and say its fraud. Do it as soon as you can.
+0Get regular offer updates, tip and tricks, big offer alerts and more straight to your inbox.
Reported it to Police James and also called the bank to see what they could do but they were unable to help I’m afraid. I’m pursuing other avenues currently.
+0ring ur bank and do a chargeback on the money…. but be prepared once unibet gets the chargeback they will for sure close ur account
My personal rule: dont keep money in any bookmakers if possible. I only deposit when i want to bet and sometimes churn that cash for a couple of days and withdraw
+0Tried the chargeback route mate but it’s looking like that is a no go. Couldn’t care less if they shut my account. Had for 5 years; their books are the same as 32red and Grosvenor anyhow.
