Waiting until in-play?
-
Excuse my ignorance but are free bets not worth more if we wait until in-play? I noticed tonight when I had a £5 free bet on Paddy Power at half time that Germany were 3.6 to qualify on Paddy Power but only 3.35 to qualify on Smarkets, this meant that I could extract more cash from the free bet.
Does this happen much during in-play that the odds are much lower at the exchange compared to the bookies or is it a one off?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

you need much higher odds than that for a free bet usually, although it doesn’t affect a £5 as much as say £50. (have a play with the calculator to see what I mean)
you will find that the higher the odds, the further apart they get so its quite usual to see 12/17.5 for example whereas the lower the odds the closer they look – but too low to be suitable for a FB.
odds are usually terrible in-play, but due to them moving so quickly they can match up now and again.
