Wednesday (Day 2) – Chat/Tips/General Thread
-
New day, new thread and hopefully a change of fortunes!
Perseverance is the key, along with sticking to the game plan. At times on Tuesday I felt like abandoning the strategies and techniques that have served us all so well, but that would be daft. At times I definitely felt like I was reaching a bit too much – e.g. wasting time looking for odds that never appeared on Hills for the High 5 offer. Need to be more realistic, this is the best jumps meeting in the world. In the main it’s going to be competitive with few races won by the golden margin.
I plan to spend more time on e/w arbs tomorrow if time allows, totally neglected them today.
Looking forward to seeing Neon Wolf in the 13:30. That could be an indicator of how my day will go, just like Melon was on Tuesday (unfortunately!)
Good luck all!

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Fucking Brutal.
had 1, 2 and 3. That will be my 365 gone!
+0Still grumpy about Bet365 restricting me on Day 1 of the festival.
+0On the bright side with Douvan and Neon Wolf losing today and some of the results yesterday the bookies should be happy and might put on some good offers for the rest of the week.
+0I have a £10 free bet on Domperignon in the 4.50. Debating whether to lay it at all. Worth the punt do you think?
Maybe will lay a fiver+0Have any favourites won at all yet?
+0not today James – had Cause of Causes with BF sports book, could have done with Cantlow coming in 2nd for Will Hill but at least that is another free bet. Steady day so far for me.
edit – I’m lying might bite won. forgot as only had it as MB2nd 🙁
+0pretty tough day, but £160 free bets for me so far
+0Might Bite 7/2 fav won today and Altior 1/4 fav won yesterday. But yes apart from that the favs have been disappointing.
+0I’ve had so many almosts today, it’s been heartbreaking. But my exchange is in fabulous health. Had the winner with Betfair there but all in all, I’d say I’ll come out of today about £20 – £30 up after extractions etc.
Disappointing but at least I’m not a mug.
+0No doubt matchemed’s fantasy profit for today will be £500.
+0I got a little on Domperignon too last night, hoping his price would come in a bit. So far it hasn’t moved much but still a bit of time.
Probably the right thing to do is lay off a little anyway.
+0johnd what the hell is wrong with you so jealous of little ole me
and ice/ryan I like the forum I dont think its fair on matt either that you use his forum yet slag it off. Maybe learn some respeckt
As for the last race….i got zilch! I’m £255 up for the day with £80 of free bets to use plus whatever I get from the last 2 races, but like yesterday most of that is from price boosts and arbs than any luck! Hoping for a lucky day thurs or fri
+0£50 FB from High 5 for Cause of Causes and an extra place have saved me today. Along with the easy Sky and Betway offers.
+0One thing I have learn’t about matched betters is they’re usually full of BS! claiming they’ve made £1000’s already! I have made about £50 over past two days! If I would have just backed the horses would be about £500 up!
+0Guessing I have missed some antics in this thread as some of the posts sound like they are in reference to wind up posts that have been removed?
Another disappointing today for me. Plenty free bets (starting to tire of using them, ha!), but none of my cunning part-lay strategies are coming off.
Had too much trust in Douvan that has cost me the chance at that Betfair £100 profit boost bonus. Now have £550 net losses on there to try and overcome before the end of the day!
When are the bloody favs gonna turn up at this Festival?!?!? You can bet that it will be just after I abandon my current strategy/weightings and go for straight up MBing
