Wednesday (Day 2) – Chat/Tips/General Thread

  • New day, new thread and hopefully a change of fortunes!

Perseverance is the key, along with sticking to the game plan. At times on Tuesday I felt like abandoning the strategies and techniques that have served us all so well, but that would be daft. At times I definitely felt like I was reaching a bit too much – e.g. wasting time looking for odds that never appeared on Hills for the High 5 offer. Need to be more realistic, this is the best jumps meeting in the world. In the main it’s going to be competitive with few races won by the golden margin.

I plan to spend more time on e/w arbs tomorrow if time allows, totally neglected them today.

Looking forward to seeing Neon Wolf in the 13:30. That could be an indicator of how my day will go, just like Melon was on Tuesday (unfortunately!)

    Good luck all!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Absolutely, feel like today wasn’t a total waste but needed to be streamlined. As you say ew arbs are a must, as are extra place offers that I didn’t take part in at all.

The balance sheet tells me I paid about £60 for £95 worth of free bets, but it could have been soooooo much better with just a couple of small differences, like Singlefarmpayment holding off Un Temps Pour Tout

Going to take a leaf out of Chris and others’ book and get as many bets on tonight as I can. Don’t normally like to do that but I was getting too stressed at times today.

I hope people have a Paddypower near them, money back 2nd is in shop too. One 2nd and a few winners ha, gonna be rocking up tomorrow like a high roller.

Aye the quali losses were high at times, feel like closer to the off the worse it became, maybe getting on in the morning is the way to go?

reading the thread it sounds like alot of people had a similar kind of day. Especially with the 14:50. what bets are people putting on tonight?

ive had a look at skybet (punting it) but wondered what others people are doing night before. agree on the ew arbs, had 4 in the 14:50 looking for the extra place, but nothing!

I was looking to get some things on tonight but not found much really.

The BetBright offer kinda derailed me along with the Un Temps winner. I was all over the place switching funds about after that. Hoping for a calmer day tomorrow.

Neon Wolf 1st or 2nd would be a great start to the day for me. The WH boost on Bacardys at 8.30 is 5.5 so should provide an op to get a Higher5 qualifier with a small profit before the off – unlikely to hit the golden margin but still, the more on, the more chance of hitting something.

Afraid my e/w arbing isn’t too advanced yet so will prob stick to the main offers and try and get an extra place or two on.

I’ve gone all in on the 3.30 and covered the 2nd-4th favs at the bookies offering the best odds and 1/4 ew terms. May take some small losses or risky overlays on the win parts (Douvan is surely going to win).

With Dafabet I’ve taken 4.5 on Might Bite for their £50 money back second offer.

Sky bet is done with Shattered Love

Also looking forward to seeing Neon Wolf, I am hoping to chuck £200 on him for the WH Higher 5 offer as I fancy him to win and win well.

Taking it a bit more easier tomorrow, won’t be chasing everything and certainly wont be bothering with the price boosts.

I’ve not got much on so far for tomorrow. Had a fair bit on last night, seemed incredibly easy with Betbright, sky and grosvenor done at close matches.
Too slow on the sky prices tonight and only done a couple paddy mb2nds so far

But there is so much liquidity and movement it seems fairly easy to get close matches with checking back time to time
And I can’t believe how easy freebet extraction is, not sure I agree with the punt freebets for Cheltenham approach I’ve read. Normally the close matches are on shortening prices, today I’ve been hitting 90%+ extractions on things not shortening and not winning

Chris and everyone else placing bets the night before…check the terms. Took me a second to look on dafabet:

“Only bets placed on the day of the actual race will qualify for the free bet”

In fact most promos are only available for bets placed on the day of the race…the night before is for e/w arbs fact

I found plenty of arbs in the arkle compared to last two handicaps, I didn’t make much use of the ew arbs, let the odd boost I got run too and they didn’t come in

But solid start to the week

Thinking tomorrow of playing the first race different in only profiting if front two in market were to win

Whats with all these techniques of profiting on certain horses or not laying etc…i just dont get it. I made £350 today and it was all pretty much guaranteed FACT. Why would I want to win £400 instead but then potentially lose £400 another day

One other point (and this is a gamble I’m having completely separate from matched betting but i like some of you so tipping you off).

    Toals have this boost:

Neon Wolf and Douvan both to win and Tombstone to place (1234) – 8/1

I think its a great chance of coming in…can see value in it too. The true price is about 8.5 at the moment but I think Neon and Douvan both go off much lower odds

    Spilt personality moment!

I more mean I wouldn’t be just gambling everything especially not free bets on favs that lose the value. I didn’t have any PROPER bets today but really do fancy the above to come in so stuck a tidy sum on it (25)

Chris is on the ball with the 3:30, the value is ridiculous especially with the 1/4 odds on everything, I advise to load up on it.
Think about were you’re putting your money for the best return, for example that betbright offer cost £300 for £100 free bet, the Arkle today had multiple horses returning over £100 for a lot less cost, I had a fair bit on royal caviar, charbel and cloudy dream which were underlayed.
Could have been a massive return, got quite unlucky with the charbel fall and caviar hitting fourth. There’s more value about than most matched betting offers that arn’t guaranteed in my opinion you just have to look.
Try it, play with a calculator on the douvan race and load up, you’ll make those figures that are forever in your eye on every thread look like chump change

Jay89 I’ll be guaranteeing profit on the 330 rather than underlaying but agree completely in the value
