what does "pulled up" mean?

  • One of the horses I bet on today came up as PU or Pulled Up in the results.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I assume it means the same as DNF, didn’t finish? However, I have no idea about Horse Racing so could be completely wrong!

The jockey obviously thought his horse had no chance of winning and instead of pushing it to a finish just let the horse amble back to the finish. In the race records shows as pulled up.

so if you bet on a horse that is pulled up does the bookie refund your stake?

No @CashedUp i’m pretty sure no bookie offers that…the closest to that I can think of is Coral offer faller refund, so if your horse falls you get it refunded as a free bet

Exactly that, pulled up. Jockey pulls the head of horse up to slow it down, if it’s knackered already which it will be otherwise why do it, then it’ll just reduce to a trot and head back to the stables.

Paddy was great today, x3 2nd to SP. One of which covered my punt on Ham/Tott
