why does matt continue to remove forum posts?

  • Threads which were here yesterday and had plenty of interesting comments/replies have now been removed.

Just because this forum is dying, he doesn’t seem to respect the members who helped his website grow in the first place.

I will soon be leaving here permanently if this continues, especially as he let us endure plenty of trolls during the times when we tried to be helpful towards him, the forum and the community.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

A bit disappointed. This the thread about the horse racing offers?

I think people find the list that Matt puts together very useful.

I think the gist of the thread was that ppl took it as a sign that matched betting offers were slow at the moment. Don’t think they were critical of the blog or of Matt for posting them.

I expanded on the point and thought they would be more useful if he added tips, gotchas and some sort of ranking of the value of the offers. Otherwise recommending those offers without warning I can see newbies jumping on all the offers and losing money. Whereas we experienced heads know that there are some races that you can make money on 2nd to SP and some you definitely can’t. And there are some qualifying losses that are acceptable for any offer and some that are not.

Anyway Matt does a great job. This forum is fantastic most of the time. The list of races must take some time and effort to pull together and to have up early in the morning. I always scan it myself to make sure I haven’t missed anything. Well done Matt!

Thanks for the vote of confidence FoG_BLoG and I’ve taken your comments regarding the horse racing offers on board. When I get a few moments spare, I’ll make the necessary amendments.

I’d like to just clarify that I will only remove a thread if I feel it may be detrimental to the blog or breaches the forum rules. Promotion of other matched betting sites has always been against the rules of the forum.

I’m very grateful to each and every forum user (new and old) that has contributed to the forum and helping others, however, respect is a two way street and it would be great if the rules could be adhered to as I don’t want to have to restrict access to anyone’s account. I’ve had to implement this on occasions recently, though it is very much a last resort!

Good to see freedom of speech is completely ignored on here, the horse posts are just a rip off of what other sites have been doing, but its nice to see the sites caught up.

    @Deathstars
you created an account just to post that?

I mentioned on the thread that was deleted that I think Matt does a great job posting lots of offers that I wasn’t aware of. And although they are not necessarily for the newbies, the walk-throughs he has written up are very clear and helpful. It only takes a couple of weeks to work out which ones are any good or not, but at least Matt lets us know. And as long as the qualifying loss is acceptable there is no harm doing them. Maybe a scale of easy/medium/difficult could be implemented?
The main problem is its off-season for most sports, and the bookies have withdrawn (most) good easy offers. Even Freds boosts aren’t what they were a year ago.

nothing to do with your name sorry deathstar, just think its sad that if you post anything with a little bit of a negative opinion the post is taken down. Might aswell just have a list of offers you can post on and thats it.

I think everyone is getting caught up in the idea that this is a democracy with arguments of freedom for speech, its not – Matts house, Matts rules. Its perfectly reasonable for him to say that people should not promote other websites that offer the same service this site does.

I have in the past mentioned that oddsmonkey and oddschecker are a place to find odds matches, because they are services that this site doesn’t provide, and I hope Matt doesn’t take offence at that, but I certainly wouldn’t join another forum and then come back here to moan about how bad this one is and its so much better elsewhere. there is a very simple solution if you don’t like it here…

This site used to be a list of offers that you could comment on, and that little community asked for a forum. Matt obliged, and we have one. And personally I am very grateful for Matts graciousness and willingness to help, and most of the regular people on here have contributed massively to this community.

of course there are other places that people can go to for advice and a list of offers etc, and I admit I have tried a lot of them, but I find this forum to be the most helpful, least judgemental and most friendly of all of them. and best of all, its free.

    Thank you Matt.

Agreed, I’ve only been around here for a few months but without a doubt this forum and Matt’s blog are absolutely fantastic resources – keep it up Matt!
