But when there is rule 4 deduction at the bookie it also applies at the exchange, which reduces the liability and can bring significant net profit if the horse wins. Or at least break-even, taking into account the big overlay milgo used.+0
@kiko The rule 4 deduction does apply on both back and lay bets and, as you say, usually ends up in the favour of the matched bettor. However, because the winning bet at Bet365 is now effectively at odds of less than 5.0 because of the rule 4 deduction, you do not get a risk free bet. This means that you will be down about £30-£35, with no risk free bet to fall back on.

Yes, that’s correct. I’ve forgotten they adjust the odds for rule 4.
But if this happens the loss will sure be less than £30-£35 (he might even break-even without the need of a risk free bet).
It happened with me 2 times, where my horse won, and the liability reduction at the exchange was a lot greater than the reduction of my winnings at the bookie.+0
Honestly Kiko it does usually work slightly in your favour but nowhere near £35 worth. If youve found a nice arb at say 9/8.8 then your laughing when it happens if you win but at 5.0 its a massive risk. I also wouldnt advise taking odds that may make you fall foul of rule 4 the night before unless theres a clear arb.
