In-play odds can fluctuate much more than pre-event odds. The best strategy for your in-play free bet is to look for a selection during half-time of football matches when the odds are stable.

Lay £10.41 @ 13.5 which means a £130.12 liability

Sorry a continuation;
If the horse wins you get £420 minus the £130.12 you’ve lost on Betfair = £289.88 profit
If the horse loses you lose your £10 bet but win £10.41 on Betfair minus your 5% commission is £9.88 so loss of £12p.

The above is using the horses you selected, by going for a horse which is more favoured to win (ie smaller odds) you’ll obviously get a smaller profit if it wins but it’ll be much larger than the £20.37 you’ll get going with you method.

Your method does guarantee a win though. Let me know if I’ve done something stupid in my methodoligy.

  Hi Jon, your strategy is fine if that’s the way you want to play it. All you’re effectively doing though is gambling your £20.00 guaranteed profit on a 14/1 shot to win £280.00+.
  
  The way I see it, if you put £20.00 on 4 different horses at 3/1, on average you’ll win £60.00 once and lose £20.00 three times and therefore break even.
  
  The beauty of matched betting is that we can make risk-free profits and beat the bookies so I’d be banking the £20.00 profit every time, but as long as you cover your stake and you don’t stand to lose money, there’s no reason why you can’t play it that way mate.

  Hi Owen. You just need to work out your treble odds. Then all you need to do is enter your treble back odds and the exchange lay odds into the matched betting calculator to get your lay stake.

Managed to back Alfahad at 12.30 lingfield for 17.00 so 49.00 in effect and layed it off pre race at 4.00. Get In!!!!!!! I was about to lay at 15.00 and the odds fell through the floor!

Hi there, before my question, loving the tutorials, I believe you are changing lives – thankyou!

OK now to my question. I don’t understand how the Casino bonus works, if you have to wager 40 times the bonus does that mean that you get a tenner to play with but have to use £400 of your own money before you can withdraw any winnings? Doesn’t seem that tempting 😉

  No, you don’t need to use your own money. You just need to wager your £10.00 bonus 40 times. Say, for example, you play through your £10.00 bonus once, and your bonus balance becomes £20.00. You’ve wagered £10.00 of the £400.00 requirement, meaning you have £390.00 left to wager. Once you wager your £20.00 bonus balance, you would have £370.00 of wagering left.
  
  You simply keep using your bonus balance until you lose it all or meet the £400.00 wagering requirement. Upon completing the wagering requirement, your bonus balance would be converted into withdrawable cash, up to £500.00.

As soon as I tried to deposit, I received a message saying “your account is not eligible for a bonus”. Same thing happened on Smarkets…

Any reason why this happens? (Other sites have been fine)

  Which deposit method are you using? The promotion is not available to customers making their first deposit via PayPal, Muchbetter, Paysafe Card, Neteller or Skrill.
  
  If you’re trying to deposit via debit card and having no joy, I would be inclined to contact them and ask for more information on why you’re not eligible. I would do the same with Smarkets, too.

    Yep it was debit card! I asked Smarkets at the time and they just fobbed me off with nonsense. I’m suspecting it could be to do with me being on a VPN (through work).

Straight upon sign up was told I wasn’t eligible for the welcome bonus due to an ‘internal decision’. Looked on Trust Pilot and it seems this is a common issue with them.

I’ve had problems with William Hill and multiple ID checks, which I’ve never had before with any company in any capacity, so I skipped them, and been doing great until 888.

Thought I’d risk it, put my £10 in, placed the bet, and now my account is suspended until I send ID. I’ve e-mailed them with what they’ve asked for, but I hope they get back to me before the game commences tomorrow… if it does commence and I’ve not heard from them/my account still suspended, would I lose my money altogether?

I did this one almost immediately after applying for William hill. They picked up my details on both ends and placed the free bet restriction on my account… AFTER I put the £10 in (and lost).

The promo code to use when using a deposit was apparently invalid, so I’m assuming I was bonus-restricted instantly. Used the same email I signed up to William Hill with.

Same problem as Jimjam50; I made my account, deposited £10 using a debit card and immediately got a notice that my account was ineligible for bonuses. I asked for a reason and they said it was an internal business decision that would neither be reviewed nor revised for the foreseeable future. So I guess I’m out of luck with this offer.

I’d completed about 15 offers with other bookies before this, is it possible they gubbed me using information from others?

  This seems to be happening to a few people and it’s difficult to know exactly what is triggering the restrictions.
  
  As I’ve mentioned in the guide, 888sport own William Hill, so if you have a William Hill account, it’s possible they’ve made a connection there. There’s no way of knowing for sure though.

Hi, is it normal for 888 to ask for a selfie holding ID? This seems an odd practice and haven’t heard of any other sites doing this. They have currently suspended my account until I provide verification so I can’t withdraw anything – have already placed qualifying bets and won.

    OK, thanks Matt. Have also read of people having bad experiences with 888 with regard to this verification and withdrawing money. Trustpilot has some pretty bad reviews recently which made me cautious. Not my experience with them in the past – asking for a friend this time.

      I haven’t heard any reports of people struggling with withdrawals. I think it’s more that people are getting restricted on signing up. It seems to have started after they acquired William Hill. 888sport are a big brand and it’s a great sign up offer, so it’s definitely worth giving them a try.
