Accounts question

  • Just found out about matched betting a week ago and decided to give it a go. I’ve been reading and gathering information up until now so I don’t screw it up, so I’m gonna start doing sing up bonuses after xmas.
I’m just wondering when you sign up to different bookies do you use the same email address or do you make a new one for each individual bookie? And do you change IP after each bookie? Might be a bit paranoid but who knows…

    Cheers.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

you don’t need to worry about proxys and changing IPs and whatnot unless you are going to use more than one account from your IP so leave that for a while.

As for emails, yes make a few up because some bookies are “skins” for the same company or otherwise linked – betfred and totesport for example, so you will want to use a different address for these. I use 4 different emails which seems to be enough so far.

One thing to mention, have a read up about IEsnare and iovation (google them) they are trackers that the bookies place on your PC like a cookie and use to link your accounts and basically spy on you. Block them as best you can.

    Good luck

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Wouldn’t blocking IEsnare be even more suspicious? But I guess it’s better blocking it than having them spy on you and then gub you eventually.

I agree it probably does look more suspicious, but if you are using something like ghostery, which blocks all cookies, how would they know you are specifically blocking them? I think its a judgement call really, and personally I really don’t like all the spying that happens online anyway. According to one of the many websites about it, IEsnare could actually be illegal as well.

you’ll find pretty quickly that bookies will gub you anyway, whether you’re blocking or not, so I choose not to let them have more than I have to.

By the way deathstar, it seems that it isn’t possible to send a PM on this forum so I was wondering, on the matchedem’s thread you mentioned Acca insurance thread as the most informative, were you referring to this thread https://matchedbettingblog.com/topic/formula-to-equalize-acca-profit/#.WGEkgn2WyUk or some other?

nah I meant this one https://matchedbettingblog.com/topic/help-with-acca-refund-bonus-offers/
but there were a very around the same time that I’ve managed to merge into one in my head, use the search forum bar and look for “acca” and read some of the threads from about a year ago
