Bet365 and VPNs
-
I occasionally work abroad and use a VPN as some bookmakers don’t accept bets from outside of the UK.
Unfortunately Bet365’s website seems to block most VPNs. Does anyone have experience of one that works?
(You guessed it, my trip just so happens to fall this week…)

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

For the sake of £30 maybe you could just leave it….?
+0From my experience I don’t think Bet365 have any problems with using a VPN. I think the issue is potentially due to their site being flash… Flash quite often stops functioning when you use a VPN. Try refreshing cookies and reconnecting to the VPN.
+0Worked fine on a vpn just then (SSTP).
What happens when you try to access the site?
+1I really don’t get why people bet when they are away especially if on their holidays. So you miss out on a few offers, that’s a good thing, would no doubt help keep you under the radar as you aren’t taking up every offer. I’m on holiday for a month so total break for me and will miss loads which i don’t mind as help me not getting restricted across my favourite bookies.sky, laddies, hills and bet365
+1Works fine on VPN for me
+0Thanks for the input guys – I’d looked into it and several sites were saying this was done specifically by Bet365 but it’s good to know that this isn’t the case and there may be a way around it.
@beh The site only partially loads, mainly just green and yellow backgrounds but no information or anything I can click on
@kjillman @RyanB – completely agree on breaks when on holiday and not being fixated on taking up every offer, etc. I probably underplayed the time abroad by saying occassionally – it’s more like regularly and has always seemed to fall when these offers are on, to the extent that I haven’t been able to do one for several months. Here’s hoping I can get it sorted for tonight 😉+0Any progress on this one? I use Cyberghost VPN which works just fine for every bookie, but I’m having the same flash/loading problems on Bet 365. I wondered if changing browser/ clearing cookies/ clearing snare might help. Hasn’t, alas, solved things in my case. If changing VPN provider (perhaps to SSTP) can get me back on the Bet 365 bandwagon then I’m prepared to pay for a subscription. M. Corrigan’s post yesterday makes it abundantly clear that it’s insane to lose B365 from your Saturday lineup for the sake of £30 a year, or whatever. Would you mind relaying what VPN provider you’re using, Beh, Dan87? Would very much appreciate a straight-up simple fix for this. Cheers all.

Using Softether self hosted on a cheap vps (2 eur/month). Also just tested using pulse secure (juniper) on my works network and it loads fine.
Could it be that 365 have blacklisted various IP ranges for known VPN providers?
+0I do it a bit different – I have Teamviewer installed on my home PC so when I finish work abroad in the evenings, I get my wife to turn on the computer and I can login to it remotely and place my bets just like at home. All comes from the home IP address and looks as usual to any bookie.
+1Thanks Beh, Mark. I set up an SSTP from Strong VPN and 365 is finally displaying properly. Only issue is that the load time is currently painfully slow. I will have a play around tomorrow and perhaps contact the VPN provider to try and improve the speed; as things are, the sluggishness would definitely be a hindrance in the horse race rush of a C4 Saturday. I am not an authority on IT matters but you might be right about blacklisted IPs, Beh. On the positive side, there are definitely various solutions to this issue as has been evidenced by feedback on this forum and elsewhere. My advice to people would be to try and trial a couple of VPNs before paying up for a year’s subscription. However, if you find a provider that does the business on all sites then it pays for itself in a couple of offers (or even one, as in today’s). Also a useful security tool for general internet use.
+0In Malta (I was on hols) I did both the Bet365’s December offers on my tablet,no VPN or anything.
+0I’m currently in Thailand and have been able to participate in both of the recent in-play offers. They have no issue whatsoever with people logging into their site from outside the country that their account was created in. I verified this on chat with them.
+0This is the only provider I’ve found which offers a dedicated IP address that isn’t blocked by Bet365, 888sport etc. https://www.vpnuk.info/index.php?r=169
I’m pretty sure they do block known VPN IP ranges as any VPN I’ve tried with an IP starting with 109 doesn’t work
+0I use VyprVPN, and find it works fine for most bookies when abroad. I avoid using it when signing up to bookies, as I’ve had issues with that, but once I’m signed up, they all work with the VPN.
+0I want to go to Indonesia for a year. Gambling is not allowed in this country. So all gambling sites are blocked.
How can I settle my bets on bet365? Will they block me if I use a VPN?Or is there any broker service or agent for bet365?
