Extra place offers, easy money today

  • Extra places being offered on the 4:15pm York (5 instead of 4) and the 4:35pm NewMarket (5 instead of 3) by Skkybet. Will be good liquidity on these later too.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Can’t see what somebody would have to gain by exaggerating winnings on this forum? It’s not a proofing site! Do you expect people to post every bet they make just to keep the doubters at bay? As if!

Like Chris, I’m also +£1k since the start of the Euros. It’s hardly a normal period though. With the Euros, Ascot, Wimbledon etc all throwing offers up. I expect profits to be half that next month. Hoping Billy Hills decide to start some decent offers again soon.

The constant bitching on this site about profits and the state of matched betting is what’s killed this place.

We’re all here to make money so hearing peoples results should be encouraging. As Starlord what has anyone got to gain from boasting to a very small forum about a win here or there. I’m sure we’ve all had great months like that, so why doubt it?

If you get jealous and don’t want to hear what’s possible just move on and quit your bitching…..

I tend to just ignore johnd, like others he seems to have a massive boner for me. He is probably one of patrick/matchedem/racing_bets new alias’, funny how those “three” disappeared at the same time.

Furthermore, back in the day when this forum was new and I wasnt gubbed from Sky, Ladbrokes, Paddy and William Hill, I was posting second place horse tips and lots of them were winning much to the delight of others on here.

iammonst3r – From Bet365 on their in-play offers I was getting really good returns in the group stages by laying over 4.5 goals £50 pre-match. As games were so cagey and so few goals were scored I ended up not backing 4.5 goals and going for something like over 1.5 instead, 2 times out of 3 that came off. Same happened with bwin. Although its not really matched betting I also layed over 4.5 goals in loads of other group matches (think there was just the one that had 5 or more goals).

Its better to just log in to the bookies you still have and check their offers. The last two Betfred in-play offers for example werent blogged or cited on this forum.

I second that, Chris’s tips back in the day were a gold mine!

Match betting is like anything else. You get out what you put in. If you sit on your arse waiting for others to do the work then you won’t make as much. If you sit down for hours a day exploring every option then your profits will rocket. Everyone is capable of making £1k a month. It’s just people don’t want to put the effort in and come up with excuses saying matchbetting is dead. It will never be dead, there will always be competition between bookies

Just lost my best site today so my chances of making money have narrowed a bit. Only thing I’ve been doing lately is backing horses close to the off time and making small profits if they win. Had a decent run and I’ve been shut down. Still I’ll just have to find something else. Not many sites left for me though.

I was looking at doing this for the first time as haven’t been MB;ing for long and am unsure on how to play this type of betting.
I have looked at the calculator and it is difficult to find anything with a reasonable QL. Considering there are loads of horses in these races then it would seem to me that a win on a 4th place would only happen about 1 in 10 times (probably wrong)?? So if my QL is around £2 for a non place and a place only gives me around £25 then for 10 bets, on average I am only making around £5 — or am I missing something?

@clivewpowney, I don’t think you’re missing anything other than being in the right place at the right time. Sometimes, I think there’s just not much value to be had.

I did the 188bet extra place yesterday and got £50 E/W risking about 75p for a possible £117. But then there are other days, when risking £7 to make £50 is as good as it gets and not worth it.

Bear in mind, I am talking about looking to hit the extra place, and not necessarily E/W arbing for a guaranteed profit. I get the laptop out, have a look and if there’s something there, I get on it. If not, I close the laptop and do something else.

Could I stay and watch the markets move closer to the off and get something? More than likely, but regarding getting out what I put in, I know I don’t put too much in.
