Forum Revamp???

  • Hi guys,

I’ve noticed that there are a lot of price boosts/enhanced odds getting posted in the New Offers forum, which is fine. Just wondering whether you guys would find it beneficial to have a separate Price Boosts forum and keep the New Offers forum strictly for offers?

Whilst we’re on the subject of tidying up the forum, if there are any other forums that you think may be beneficial, post and discuss them here and we can try them out.

Also, I’m aware that the forum is in need of moderation and I’m planning on revising the rules, but if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

    Cheers guys!

    Matt

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…

A beginners section would be the only improvement I’d like to see, agree with a few of the previous posts, it’s not always easy to help guys who get themselves into deep rollover situations but a lot of these mistakes could be rectified with a dedicated section for newcomers to help eachother which would alleviate some of the spam on the main boards

Sort of agree with Pickle i’m quite happy having price boosts & offers on the New Offers easily seen especially when people name the title of the thread appropriately, however, it wouldn’t bother me too much if it moved to a separate area. Just means having to keep an eye on both places to not miss an offer/boost (as sometimes the enhanced prices/boosts are better than actual free bet offers)

    Just a newbies section

But it would be easier if people started the new offer with the type of offer available e.g. Price boost under lay etc

Could this be added as a choice when posting?

No need for a newbies section since they cant post in the VIP lounge anyway

I love the forum as it is. It would be awkward to have to check loads of different sections

Keep to 4 sections but maybe rename………

General Chit-Chat to help and advice

Sports Talk to Price Boost and Enhanced Odds (But not General Arbs)

I’d like to see more of Johnson on the forum, if possible 🙂

    Hi Matt,

I agree with several others here in keeping the offers all in one forum. But I would like to see the OP of a thread having the ability to delete the thread and being able to edit their OP – the latter being particularly helpful for horseracing, but also helpful for a specific event, so if someone starts a thread on Arsenal v Barca, then as offers and price boosts arise, they can be added to the OP. But perhaps the OP also needs to be visible on later pages?

I think we’re fairly good at policing ourselves, so not sure if moderators would be required, though there’s a small handful of regulars that I’d recommend for it.

    Cheers

What about the ability for the moderator or forum ownder to make the post sticky as you can them keep the most imposrtant posts at the top instead of disappearing but apart from that forum is great as it is in my opinion.

I think it was a suggestion jdrobbo lol

I’m happy with the forum as it is. Too many sections make it more work to see what’s going on.
The main problem for me is how slow the forum is. Navigating around seem to take forever! Is there something that can be done about that?

to be able to select the number of posts per page of a thread would be good

eg 15/25/50, as the current number (15) isn’t very much IMO (but maybe setting the default higher would make the page load too slowly for some users). only a small change but there’s not really anything else to suggest as it’s mostly good as is.

I’m pretty much fine with the way it is. My only request would be to have the new offers split into three. Football, horses and misc. With all the horse chat that goes on, other offers soon disappear onto the second page.

I thought it was the five star lounge not the VIP lounge?
