Just spotted it as well. Great risk free boost. Let me place £38.90 for a risk free shot of £19.07 when underlayed. It actually stands a chance as long as N.Ireland will play defensively as well as Poland played against them few days ago.

Many thanks for posting this. Useful as I have more at Unibet than I would like. I’m a complete novice to matched betting and feeling my way-but Rob above has mentioned “underlaying”. Is there any chance than anyone can illustrate the mechanics of underlaying, or for that matter overlaying, in regard to this opportunity to help me understand it a bit better?

Many thanks to anyone that can help with these concepts.

Harkess – there’s no doubt threads on the newbies section about it. But essentially you’re just laying enough to cover your back bet in the event it loses. if you’re laying on Smarkets, then you need to divide your back bet by 0.98 to give you the amount you need to lay on Smarkets. Eg your back bet is £25. Divide this by 0.98 gives you a figure of £25.51. That’s what you lay on Smarkets. If your back bet loses then Smarkets pay you £25.00 (which is £25.51 minus 2% commission). The formula is the same regardless of the odds you’re dealing with.

So, in this example, back odds 7.0, lay odds, say, 6.5, and say a stake limit of £30.
    £30 on 1-0 @7.0 = £180 profit
    Lay £30 / 0.98 so £30.61 on 6.5 = liability of £168.36
    If it’s 1-0, then you win £11.64.

If you just did a standard lay, then you guarantee yourself a profit of £1.76 regardless of the outcome. I almost always underlay these.

You can find a calculator for this at oddsmonkey.
