Wednesday (Day 2) – Chat/Tips/General Thread

New day, new thread and hopefully a change of fortunes!

Perseverance is the key, along with sticking to the game plan. At times on Tuesday I felt like abandoning the strategies and techniques that have served us all so well, but that would be daft. At times I definitely felt like I was reaching a bit too much – e.g. wasting time looking for odds that never appeared on Hills for the High 5 offer. Need to be more realistic, this is the best jumps meeting in the world. In the main it’s going to be competitive with few races won by the golden margin.

I plan to spend more time on e/w arbs tomorrow if time allows, totally neglected them today.

Looking forward to seeing Neon Wolf in the 13:30. That could be an indicator of how my day will go, just like Melon was on Tuesday (unfortunately!)

Hi Aran. Yes extra place offers can be great too. It all depends on the race really. Certain types of races means that the standard 1/4 or 1/5 terms are favourable or any enhancement on the terms with an extra place just adds more value. Extra place races and e/w arbs are very similar.

Extra place offers are hard to hit and you’ll make a loss on the place lay 90% of the time because the bookie offering the extra place will at the same time cut the ew terms from 1/4 to 1/5. When you do hit one though, you’re looking at £100+ depending on your stake (I always go £30ew minimum) and odds of the horse (I try to go 11.0 or over).

I think I’ve tried almost 20 times and hit the extra place only twice.

Coral is doing 6 places on the 2.50 at 1/4 odds so should be able to get decent place matches there.

Yep. Was hoping to get something on Bacardys on Boyle for money back 2nd or 3rd to SP but exchange just kept drifting and bookie didnt really move out with it.

Yeah, def no good matches right now. Tin Soldier the best but I’d expect that to place higher than 5th but you never know.
