Wednesday (Day 2) – Chat/Tips/General Thread

  • New day, new thread and hopefully a change of fortunes!

Perseverance is the key, along with sticking to the game plan. At times on Tuesday I felt like abandoning the strategies and techniques that have served us all so well, but that would be daft. At times I definitely felt like I was reaching a bit too much – e.g. wasting time looking for odds that never appeared on Hills for the High 5 offer. Need to be more realistic, this is the best jumps meeting in the world. In the main it’s going to be competitive with few races won by the golden margin.

I plan to spend more time on e/w arbs tomorrow if time allows, totally neglected them today.

Looking forward to seeing Neon Wolf in the 13:30. That could be an indicator of how my day will go, just like Melon was on Tuesday (unfortunately!)

    Good luck all!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

They should appear on the promo page but it doesn’t seem to be working. I cant see any boosts at present.

Is it worth it though? Lay is 7 on Smarkets… Was it much lower before the boost? The first time I checked after the boost itw as laying at 6.8. Usually much less tight than that..

High 5 is still worth doing in some of the races today…. the rewards are too high to not try.

Altior was a fairly easy £50 FB yesterday.

Bar the 2:50 the first 4 races are all worth trying with the Fav.

First race is Higher 5 so if anything bolts up then its money back all losers.

Pretty poor boosts today from Hills. Both have been laying at one tick below their price..

aran, its already been explained on this thread and a few more. There is a sticky for it on one of the forums.

    For example:

Bet365 have 50/1 (51.0) for Valentino. If you back e/w that means 1/4 odds you get paid 13.5 if he places.

The place price on the exchange is 6.6. So if you back him e/w you get paid 13.5 by the bookie if he places and if you also lay him at the exchange you are only paying out 6.6.

So back 10 e/w means £10@51 to win and £10@13.5 to place.

Lay the win and place separate, the QL on the win will be more than made up on the profit on the place arb.

    Lay £6.38 @ 81 to win, lay £20.52 @ 6.6 to play.

Total Liability required is £618. Guaranteed profit is £6.36.

Obviously if you can afford to double, treble your e/w stakes then you can double or treble your profit. If you could do £50 e/w then you could guarantee £30 but would need thousands to back it up in the exchange….

Hills happy hour boosts aren’t eligible for high 5.

Hills will cut odds by 0.5-1 on the first races to reduce liabilities on their Higher Five offer. Their odds were rubbish last year too.

fog, thanks for the reply, I understand now. I was confused because the thread was also mentioning extra place offers today, are these not as profitable? thanks
