Coral Offer – Joshua v Klitschko

Anthony Joshua faces Wladimir Klitschko tonight and you don’t want to miss this Coral offer. Simply place a £5.00+ win single on the Fight Betting market for Joshua v Klitschko and if our fighter wins in round 4, 5 or 6, Coral will double our winnings, up to £100.00, in free bets! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £76.98 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Monday 24th April 2017 and the fight getting underway, to be eligible. The fight is scheduled to get underway just after 22:00 tonight.

To qualify, we must place a £5.00+ Single bet on the Fight Betting market. If our fighter wins in round 4, 5 or 6, Coral will double our winnings in free bets.

Example:

  • Bet £50.00 on Joshua in the Fight Betting market (£50.00 placed at 2/5).
  • Joshua wins the fight in round 4, 5 or 6.
  • Our bet on Joshua has won, returning £70.00 (£50.00 stake and £20.00 winnings).
  • Within 24 hours of bet settlement, Coral will credit our account with a free bet, matching our winnings (£20.00 in this example).

The maximum free bet is £100.00 per customer and this will be credited within 24 hours of our bet being settled. Free bets stakes are not included in any returns.

It’s entirely up to you which fighter you go for. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Wladimir Klitschko.

In order to work out our back stake, we need to divide £100.00 by 2.00 (back odds minus 1.00). This gives us a back stake of £50.00 which is ideal as it’s best that we stick to round numbers when placing our qualifying bet.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £47.92…

Place £50.00 on Klitschko @ 3.00 = Potential profit of £100.00

smarkets whiteLay £47.92 on Klitschko @ 3.15 = Potential liability of £103.02

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Klitschko wins the fight but not in rounds 4-6 + £100.00 – £103.02 = £3.02 loss
Klitschko wins the fight in rounds 4-6 + £100.00 – £103.02 + £80.00 (80% extracted from £100.00 free bet) = £76.98 profit
Klitschko doesn’t win the fight – £50.00 + £46.96 = £3.04 loss

So, if Klitschko wins the fight in round 4, 5 or 6, we’ll make a nice profit of £76.98. Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £3.04. Risking £3.04 to make a profit of £76.98, gives us effective odds of 26.32. So, given that Klitschko is odds of 11.00 to win the fight in rounds 4-6, this is a profitable offer in the long run.

NOTE: We can actually make this offer risk-free by placing an extra lay bet on our fighter to win in rounds 4-6 on the Betfair Exchange. In order to work out our lay stake, we just need to divide our potential qualifying loss by 0.95 (to account for the 5% commission).
