Yes, you’ll get the full £5 free bet. But when using the free bet you’ll get around £4 profit.

Hi, how is this a loss of £1.00? I am still awaiting my £5 free bet being credited? If I place this on high odds could this then give me a profit instead of a loss?

  I think you need to take a little more time reading the posts Jake. I wouldn’t advise that you do any offers unless you fully understand them first.
  
  We are placing a £5.00 bet at Betfred without laying. If the bet wins, we make a nice profit. If the bet doesn’t win, we receive a £5.00 free bet, from which we can extract £4.00 cash by laying it off. That gives us an overall loss of £1.00. There are some high profile football friendlies taking place at the moment, but horse racing is also a valid option for using your free bet.

    Thanks Matt, I do appreciate that. This is the second offer I have tried. I am taking it slow, one at a time and trying to understand everything. Matt my question being would it be possible to place the free bet at a high odds to extract profit? This is what I was confused on as this is what I have taken from your blog at the minute. That we place free bets at high odds in order to make more than the £4 for example leaving us in a loss?

      To extract more than £4 from the free bet you would need to find a very close back and lay at pretty long odds which is possible but takes a bit of hunting around. To extract more than £5 from the free bet you would need an arb. To be honest mate, anything about £3.70 in terms of extraction for me is fine. I can’t be arsed spending my day hunting odds for an additional 20p.

      The profit extracted from a free bet depends on the back and lay odds. Typically, we can extract around 80% cash from a free bet. The higher the odds, the better, but we also need the back and lay odds to be close. As mentioned in the post, this is a speculative offer where we accept a £1.00 loss if our bet doesn’t come in.

    Hi Matt, on this offer I had made a loss of -£0.55. I managed to find a horse on the Pontefract race 17:10 with high and both back and my odds being 11. Thanks so much for your help. What would you suggest now? Keep trying to fully stand the offers and keep trying to learn as I go? I am learning slowly but I am getting there, these potential offwre like you say sometimes we have to accept the small loss and hopefully make up for the profit in future matches bets?
