Ladbrokes Offer – Mayweather v McGregor

It promises to be a record breaking night and you don’t want to miss this Ladbrokes offer! Simply bet £10.00+ on Mayweather v McGregor and Ladbrokes will give us £10.00 in free bets to be used in play on Super Sunday football. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.31 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

To qualify for our 2 x £5.00 free in play bets, we must bet £10.00+ at odds of 1.10 (1/10) or greater on Mayweather v McGregor.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 06:00 on Tuesday 22nd August 2017 and the start of the fight (around 04:00) on Sunday 27th August 2017, to be eligible.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Floyd Mayweather in the Fight Betting market.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £10.02…

Ladbrokes logo

Place £10.00 on Mayweather @ 1.222 = Potential profit of £2.22

Smarkets logo

Lay £10.02 on Mayweather @ 1.24 = Potential liability of £2.40

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Mayweather wins + £2.22 – £2.40 = £0.18 loss
Mayweather doesn’t win – £10.00 + £9.81 (£10.02 minus 2% commission) = £0.19 loss

So, regardless of the result of the match, we’ll lose a maximum of £0.19 in qualifying for our 2 x £5.00 free in play bets.

Free Bet:

Our 2 x £5.00 free bets must be used in play on West Brom v Stoke (13:30) and Liverpool v Arsenal (16:00) on Sunday. Each free bet will be credited at the start of the respective match.

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the matches have kicked off but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 75% cash from the 2 x £5.00 free bets, so £7.50. If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £0.19, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.31 on this Ladbrokes offer!

Extracting profit from our free bets can be a little tricky when betting in play. One option is to wait until half-time, as the odds don’t fluctuate as much as when the game is live. If you place your free bet and then something happens in the game that changes the lay odds, it will affect your profit one way or the other.

Another option is to place it on 1-1, 2-1 or 3-1 whilst the score is at 0-0. By selecting a scoreline where both teams score, it reduces the risk of the odds fluctuating unfavourably.
