Ladbrokes Offer – World Matchplay Darts 2017

The World Matchplay Darts 2017 is underway and Ladbrokes are getting in on the action! Simply place a Correct Score bet on the opening match of each session and if it loses, Ladbrokes will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £100.00+ and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed 06:00 on the day each session takes place, to be eligible.

Losing stakes are refunded as a free bet, so ordinarily we would treat this as a risk-free offer. Unfortunately though, the Correct Score market is a little obscure and so the liquidity tends to be lacking.

I’ve therefore decided to treat this as a speculative offer. We can just place our qualifying bets on a selection of our choice and let them run as value bets without laying. If our back bet wins, we’ll have made a nice profit, otherwise we can just extract 80% from each £10.00 free bet refund and take a £2.00 loss.

Having looked at the odds available for Jelle Klaasen v Justin Pipe, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on 10-7 to Jelle Klaasen.

Place £10.00 on 10-7 Klaasen @ 8.00 = Potential profit of £70.00

So, if Jelle Klaasen wins the match 10-7, we’ll have made a nice profit of £70.00. Any other outcome and we’ll have made a loss of £2.00. Risking £2.00 to make a profit of £70.00 gives us effective odds of 36.00, so given that Jelle Klaasen is odds of 8.00 to win the match 10-7, this is a very profitable offer in the long run.

If our selection loses, our free bet will be credited within 24 hours and will be valid for 7 days.

This offer is available on the opening match of each session, so I’ll update the following table with my selections throughout the tournament…

Match Selection Odds Potential Loss Potential Profit
Klaasen v Pipe 10-7 Klaasen 8.00 £2.00 £70.00
Chisnall v King 10-6 Chisnall 7.50 £2.00 £65.00
Whitlock v K. Anderson 10-8 Whitlock 8.00 £2.00 £70.00
Suljovic v Pipe 11-7 Suljovic 8.00 £2.00 £70.00
Chisnall v Norris 11-7 Chisnall 8.00 £2.00 £70.00
Gurney v Suljovic 16-11 Gurney 12.00 £2.00 £110.00
Norris v Lewis 16-12 Lewis 10.00 £2.00 £90.00
Gurney v Wright 17-13 Wright 10.00 £2.00 £90.00

* Unfortunately I ended the tournament without a win and with a loss of £16.00, having been one or two legs out on 5 of the 8 bets placed. That’s the way it goes sometimes, but it’s still a very profitable offer long-term and hopefully we’ll see it again some time soon. *
