Place a £10.00 Exchange back bet on the Match Odds market for Arsenal v Liverpool and Betfair will give us a £5.00 free Sportsbook bet to use on a football multiple. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £20.00+ and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.
To qualify for a £5.00 free Sportsbook multiple bet, we must place a £10.00 Betfair Exchange back bet on the Match Odds market (minimum odds of 1.20) for Arsenal v Liverpool, which kicks off at 19:45 on Friday 22nd December 2017. Our qualifying bet will be our first eligible bet placed after 10:00 on Tuesday 19th December 2017.
Remember, if we opt in, Betfair are charging just 2% commission on Premier League Match Odds exchange bets until 3rd January 2018. We’ll need to lay our bet at Smarkets though, as it’s against the terms of this offer to lay against our selections at Betfair.
It’s entirely up to you which outcome you place your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Arsenal.

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.88…
Place £10.00 on Arsenal @ 2.56 = Potential profit of £15.29
Lay £9.88 on Arsenal @ 2.58 = Potential loss of £15.61
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
| Arsenal win | + £15.29 – £15.61 = £0.32 loss |
| Arsenal don’t win | – £10.00 + £9.68 (£9.88 minus 2% commission) = £0.32 loss |
So, we’ll make a loss of £0.32 in qualifying for our £5.00 free multiple bet.
Free Bet:
Our £5.00 free bet will be credited between 22:00 on Friday 22nd December 2017 and 10:00 on Saturday 23rd December 2017 and must be used on a football multiple bet before 23:59 on Sunday 24th December 2017.
It’s up to you how you use the free multiple bet. One option is to lay it sequentially at Smarkets but I think we’re just as well placing it on a double and hoping to make a nice profit.
I’ll update the bottom of this post on Saturday with my suggested double. It depends on the odds of the double as to how much profit we stand to make.
If we were to hit a winner at odds of 5/1 and taking our qualifying loss of £0.32 into account, that gives us a potential profit of £24.68 on this Betfair offer!
