Betfair Offer – Everton v Man Utd

Everton and Manchester United go head to head for a place in the FA Cup Final tonight and Betfair are offering to double our winnings on Correct Score bets. Place a pre-match single on either the Match Result, Correct Score or First Goalscorer market in Everton v Manchester United, and if both teams score, Betfair will double our winnings. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £4.40 and here’s how…

Betfair Offer - Everton v Man Utd

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

In order to be eligible for this offer, our £10.00 (max.) qualifying bet must be placed pre-match on either the Match Result, Correct Score or First Goalscorer market. If both teams score in normal time, Betfair will double our odds. Winnings will be paid in cash at the normal price and then topped up to double odds with free bets. So, for example, if we place £10.00 on a winning Correct Score at odds of 6.00 (5/1), we would receive £60.00 in cash and £50.00 in free bets, if both teams score.

We need to select a Correct Score that sees both teams scoring, as this enables us to do this offer as a straight back and lay. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on a 2-1 Manchester United win at back odds of 9.00.

If Manchester United win 2-1, we will automatically be eligible for double winnings as both teams will have scored. We would receive £90.00 back in cash and £80.00 in free bets, from which we would extract £64.00 cash. That gives us total cash returns of £154.00 and effective odds of 15.40 on our initial £10.00 stake.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission. It’s also a very bad idea to place our back bets on the Betfair Sportsbook and then lay them off on the Betfair Exchange as it breaches the terms of the offer.

We can enter our effective odds into my matched betting calculator to calculate the correct overlay stake…

Place £10.00 on 2-1 Man Utd @ 9.00 = Potential profit of £80.00

Lay £14.69 on 2-1 Man Utd @ 10.50 = Potential liability of £139.60

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

2-1 Man Utd + £80.00 – £139.60 + £64.00 (extract from £80.00 free bet) = £4.40 profit
Not 2-1 Man Utd – £10.00 + £14.40 = £4.40 profit

So, regardless of the result of the match, we’ll make a guaranteed profit of £4.40 on this Betfair offer!

Free bets will be credited within 12 hours of each match ending and if you’re unsure how to extract 80% of any free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
