Qualifying Bets:

This week’s eligible matches are as follows…

Fixture Kick-Off Date
PSG v Barcelona 19:45 Tuesday 14th February 2017
Benfica v Dortmund 19:45 Tuesday 14th February 2017
Real Madrid v Napoli 19:45 Wednesday 15th February 2017
Bayern Munich v Arsenal 19:45 Wednesday 15th February 2017

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 22:00 on Monday 13th February 2017 and 22:00 on Wednesday 15th February 2017, to be eligible.

We can qualify for this promotion a maximum of four times, once for each of the four eligible matches. We can only receive one bonus per game.

The maximum qualifying stake for this offer is £25.00 and the maximum bonus is £50.00. Bonuses will be credited as a free bet within 24 hours of our qualifying profitable cash out and will be valid for 48 hours.

The strategy for these cash out offers is to back and lay our qualifying bet as normal and then see how things play out in play. If our selection is winning and we can cash out for almost the full amount, we should cash out. We just need to make sure that the extracted cash from the incoming free bet more than covers our qualifying loss and the amount lost in cashing out early, hence leaving us with a profit.

Having looked at the odds available for PSG v Barcelona, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on PSG in the ‘Match Odds’ market.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on PSG @ 3.50 = Potential profit of £62.50

smarkets whiteLay £25.14 on PSG @ 3.50 = Potential liability of £62.86

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

PSG win + £62.50 – £62.86 = £0.36 loss
PSG don’t win – £25.00 + £24.64 (£25.14 minus 2% commission) = £0.36 loss

So, we’ll lose £0.36 in qualifying for this Betfair offer.

If PSG are leading during the closing stages of the match, we should be able to cash out for around 90% of the full potential profit, so £56.25. We’ll then receive a £28.13 bonus (50%).

By using straightforward matched betting, we can extract 80% cash from any free bet, so around £22.50 in this instance. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.36 and the £6.25 we lost by cashing out early, this gives us an overall profit of £15.89.

Risking £0.36 to make a profit of £15.89, gives us effective odds of 45.14. So, given that the odds of PSG winning are only 3.50, this a very profitable offer in the long run.

This offer is available on all Champions League matches this week. It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on. I’ll update the following table with my selections throughout the week…

Fixture Selection Back Odds Lay Odds Qualifying Loss Potential Profit
PSG v Barcelona PSG 3.50 3.50 £0.36 £15.89
Benfica v Dortmund Dortmund 2.30 2.32 £0.50 £7.95
Real Madrid v Napoli Napoli 6.50 6.60 £0.80 £25.45
Bayern Munich v Arsenal Arsenal 7.50 7.60 £0.76 £22.99

So, as you can see, we’ll lose £2.42 if none of our bets come in, but with £72.28 profit up for grabs, this offer is well worth a shot!
