There’s a nice little BetVictor offer on the Manchester United v Manchester City derby this weekend. Whenever I do these BetVictor offers, I always stick to the correct score market. I find the liquidity at the betting exchange is far better than goalscorer markets and I just feel more comfortable here. We need to select a scoreline that sees someone keeping a clean sheet. This ensures that if both teams score, we will automatically qualify for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted for a 2-0 Manchester United win.
Place £5.00 on 2-0 Man Utd @ 15.00 = Potential profit of £70.00
Lay £4.42 on 2-0 Man Utd @ 17.00 = Potential liability of £70.80
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the three outcomes…
| 2-0 Man Utd | +£70.00 – £70.80 = £0.80 loss |
| Not 2-0 Man Utd and both teams score | -£5.00 + £4.20 + £4.00 (extract 80% from our £5.00 free bet) = £3.20 profit |
| Not 2-0 Man Utd and someone keeps a clean sheet | -£5.00 + £4.20 = £0.80 loss |
So, if someone keeps a clean sheet, we will make a loss of £0.80. If, however both teams score, we will make a nice profit of £3.20. So we are effectively gambling £0.80 to win £3.20. This means we are getting odds of 4/1 on both teams scoring. The actual odds for both teams scoring are around 7/10 which makes this a very profitable offer in the long run!
