It’s the first Manchester derby of the new season and you don’t want to miss this Coral offer. Simply place a £5.00+ win single on the 90 minute Match Betting market for Manchester United v Manchester City and if our team wins both halves, Coral will double our winnings, up to £100.00, in cash! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £98.56 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.
Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Friday 9th September 2016 and 12:30 (kick-off) today (Saturday 10th September 2016), to be eligible.
To qualify, we must place a £5.00+ Single bet at odds of 1.50 (1/2) or greater on the 90 minute win-draw-win market. If our teams wins the first half and then goes on to win the second half, Coral will double our winnings in cash.
The maximum cashback payment is £100.00 per customer and this will be credited within 24 hours of our bet being settled.
Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Manchester City. In order to work out our back stake, we need to divide £100.00 by 2.30 (back odds minus 1.00). This gives us a back stake of £43.48. It’s best that we make this a nice round number, so I’m going to place £50.00 instead.
I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.
We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £49.55…
Place £50.00 on Man City @ 3.30 = Potential profit of £115.00
Lay £49.55 on Man City @ 3.35 = Potential liability of £116.44
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Man City win the match but not both halves | + £115.00 – £116.44 = £1.44 loss |
Man City win the match having won both halves | + £115.00 – £116.44 + £100.00 = £98.56 profit |
Man City don’t win the match | – £50.00 + £48.56 = £1.44 loss |
So, if Manchester City win both halves, we will make a nice profit of £98.56. If Manchester City don’t win both halves, we’ll have made a loss of £1.44. Risking £1.44 to make a profit of £98.56, gives us effective odds of 69.44, so given that Manchester City are odds of 12.00 to win both halves, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
