It’s Croatia v England in the World Cup 2018 Semi-Finals tonight and Unibet are getting in on the action! Simply bet £10.00+ on Croatia v England at odds of 2/1+ and if our bet wins, Unibet will give us a £10.00 free bet! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £7.70 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

We must opt in to this offer to be eligible.

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed at odds of 2/1 or greater to be eligible. Qualifying bets can be placed on any pre-match or in play market.

It’s entirely up to you what you placed your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on a Draw in the Full Time market.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.91…

Unibet logo

Place £10.00 on a draw @ 3.15 = Potential profit of £21.50

Smarkets logo

Lay £9.91 on a draw @ 3.20 = Potential liability of £21.80

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Draw+ £21.50 – £21.80 + £8.00 (extract 80% from £10.00 free bet) = £7.70 profit
Not a draw- £10.00 + £9.71 (£9.91 minus 2% commission) = £0.29 loss

So, if the match is drawn, we’ll have made a profit of £7.70. If the match isn’t drawn, we’ll have made a loss of £0.29. Risking £0.29 to make a profit of £7.70 gives us effective odds of 27.55. So, given that the odds are just 3.15 for the match to be drawn, this a profitable offer in the long run.

If eligible, our £10.00 free bet will be credited within 24 hours of the match finishing and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% cash from a free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

* The match was drawn 1-1 after 90 minutes, resulting in a profit of £7.70 on this Unibet offer. *

Could you potentially make this offer risk free? Not sure if my calculations are correct, but if you had back and lay odds of 3.05 and 3.15, could you change this to 3.85 and 3.15, to take into account the £8 from the free bet? Would then have a risk free £6.55 on a draw

Yes it’s fine to do it that way Liam.
