EnergyBet Offer – Man Utd v Man City

It’s the battle of Manchester in today’s late kick-off and you don’t want to miss this EnergyBet offer. Simply place a bet on Man Utd or Man City to win the match and if our selected team wins by two or more goals, EnergyBet will add 50% to our winnings as a bonus, up to a maximum of £20.00! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £14.01 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

* This offer is available on all Premier League matches this weekend (Week 16). *

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 23:01 on Friday 8th December 2017 and 16:30 (kick-off) on Sunday 10th December 2017, to be eligible.

To qualify, we must place a £10.00+ bet on Man Utd or Man City in the Match Result market, at odds of 1.75 (3/4) or greater. If our team wins by two or more goals, EnergyBet will add 50% to our winnings as a bonus.

The maximum bonus is £20.00 and this can only be claimed once this weekend. Bonuses will be credited by 16:00 on Monday 11th December 2017 and must be rolled over five (5) times at odds of 1.75 (3/4) or greater, within 30 days.

It’s entirely up to you which team you go for. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Man City.

In order to work out the back stake that gives us the maximum potential bonus (£20.00), we need to divide £40.00 by 1.25 (back odds minus 1.00). This gives us a back stake of £32.00. It’s best that we stick to round numbers when placing our qualifying bet, so we should stake £30.00 instead.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Betfair as they have great liquidity and the site is really easy to use and if we opt in, they are charging just 2% commission on Premier League Match Odds bets until 3rd January 2018.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £29.61…

Place £30.00 on Man City @ 2.25 = Potential profit of £37.50

Lay £29.61 on Man City @ 2.30 = Potential liability of £38.49

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Man City win the match but not by 2 or more goals + £37.50 – £38.49 = £0.99 loss
Man City win the match by 2 or more goals + £37.50 – £38.49 + £15.00 (80% extracted from £18.75 bonus) = £14.01 profit
Man City don’t win the match – £30.00 + £29.01 = £0.99 loss

So, if Man City win by two or more goals, we’ll make a nice profit of £14.01. Any other outcome and we’ll lose £0.99. Risking £0.99 to make a profit of £14.01, gives us effective odds of 15.15. So, given that Man City are odds of 4.00 to win by two or more goals, this is a profitable offer in the long run.

* Man City won the match 2-1, resulting in a loss of £0.99 on this EnergyBet offer. *
