We can calculate our lay stake using the ‘Qualifying Bet‘ setting on my Matched Betting Calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £47.79…
Place £50.00 on Liverpool @ 1.95 = Potential profit of £47.50
Lay £47.79 on Liverpool @ 2.06 = Potential liability of £50.65
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
So, regardless of whether Liverpool win, lose or draw, we’ll lose a maximum of £3.17 in qualifying for our £50.00 free bet.
Free bet
Our £50.00 free bet will only become available once the match starts and must be used in play. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.
It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the match has kicked off, but we should be aiming to convert our £50.00 free bet into around 75% cash, so £37.50.
If you’re unsure how to convert free bets into cash, please see my free bets guide for a walkthrough of how it should be done.
I’ll use back odds of 8.50 and lay odds of 9.80 for 2-1 Liverpool in the following example to illustrate how things should pan out.
We can calculate our lay stake using the ‘Free Bet‘ setting on my Matched Betting Calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £38.34…
Place £50.00 on 2-1 Liverpool @ 8.50 = Potential profit of £375.00
Lay £38.34 on 2-1 Liverpool @ 9.80 = Potential liability of £337.39
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
So, with some decent odds, we’ll convert our £50.00 free bet into around £37.50 cash.
If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £3.17, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £34.33 on this Bet365 offer!

Guest userTechnically not matched betting but hasn’t failed me yet – putting the initial stake (£10 for me) for no penalty in the first minute at odds 1.001 still qualifies for the free bet – with no loss (99.99% of the time).

Guest userWhat do we have to do to get this offer? I’ve heard placing regular £50 bets will help, is this true?

Guest userI wagered around £3000 as part of a challenge I was doing with them in the last 6 weeks. My free bet went from £10 to £25. God knows how to get the £50.
Putting your bet on someone like Matip or VVD (if he’s there) to be booked is a pretty safe way to avoid the exchanges, though it’s obviously not risk free, they can still come on and be carded, still, it’s likely they won’t even come on and the bet will be voided but the free bet will still count.

Guest userThat’s an even better idea than my comment, Matip is currently there and is expected to be out until July so it is risk free, cheers I’ll do that now.
