It’s Man Utd v Leicester in the Premier League on Friday and Coral are getting in on the action. Simply bet £10.00+ on Man Utd to win and Coral will give us a £5.00 free bet for every goal they score. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £11.61 and here’s how…

Key Terms:

  • Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 on Thursday 9th August 2018 and 20:00 (kick-off) on Friday 10th August 2018.
  • We must bet £10.00+ on Man Utd in the Match Result market.
  • £5.00 free bet for every Man Utd goal, up to a maximum total of £15.00.

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.80…

Coral logo

Place £10.00 on Man Utd @ 1.50 = Potential profit of £5.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £9.80 on Man Utd @ 1.55 = Potential liability of £5.39

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Man Utd win + £5.00 – £5.39 = £0.39 loss
Man Utd don't win -£10.00 + £9.60 (£9.80 minus 2% commission) = £0.40 loss

So, regardless of the outcome, we’ll lose a maximum of £0.40 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every goal that Man Utd score, we’ll receive a £5.00 free bet within 24 hours of the final whistle, up to a maximum total of £15.00. Free bets will be valid for 24 hours and free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

If Man Utd score three or more goals, we’ll receive £15.00 in free bets.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% cash from our £15.00 in free bets, so £12.00. If we take into account our minimum qualifying loss of £0.39, this gives us a potential profit of £11.61 on this Coral offer!

* Man Utd won the match 2-1, resulting in a profit of £7.61 on this Coral offer. *

This offer appears to differ by customer. I get ‘bet £10 get £2 for every goal. Just a heads up to check your specific terms.

  2. map1984

interesting that, mines identical to here. Is the banner advertising it different for you, or just the t&c?
Might be worth you avoiding if they’re getting tense about giving you Free bets.

    1. Ali

Banner says £5 but had an email saying £2. TBH they gubbed me a while back and recently appear to ungubbed, or at least partially.

  3. Lynne

Mine is £2 as well – the banner advertising is a different colour – red instead of blue.

    1. Ali

I hadn’t noticed the colour difference. Anyway, despite all that I have been credited 2 x £5 and some free spins. No idea what is going on but certainly not complaining!

  4. rich23

anybody still waiting for the free bets?

    1. Mark

      Still not received mine yet

  5. Hootz

  6. foreleft

  7. Hootz

ended up live chatting and getting them added manually

  8. rrich23

well these crooks reckon i signed up for 20 free spins and wont pay the free bets……money withdrawn!!

    1. rich23

oh well, what goes around comes around. i won £35 cash on the casino this morning from these spins….thanks coral

  9. Benji

I bet on this and was expecting 2× free bets and ended up with 20 free spins. Not amused.
    Absolutely shocking.

  10. Mpar

I’m having the same issues with them crediting spins not free bets. Going to report them to the Gambling Commission.

  11. John

Same here… Such behaviour should be reported! It’s a scam and misleading the customers.

  12. Jack B

I have been told the same regarding spins

    1. Matt

They were running a ‘Bet £10, Get 20 free spins’ offer alongside this one, so I think that’s where the confusion has arisen. Not the best way for Coral to start the season but they’re usually pretty good.
