It’s FA Cup Final day at Wembley on Saturday and NetBet are getting in on the action! Simply bet £20.00 on either Crystal Palace or Manchester United to win the game in 90 minutes and NetBet will give us a £5.00 free bet for each goal that is scored for the team we bet on! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £7.16 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
We must opt-in on the promotion page to be eligible for this offer.
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.
It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it on the Match Betting market (1X2 FT). Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on the favourites, Manchester United.
I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.
We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.55…
Place £20.00 on Man Utd @ 1.74 = Potential profit of £14.80
Lay £19.55 on Man Utd @ 1.80 = Potential profit of £15.64
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Man Utd win | + £14.80 – £15.64 = £0.84 loss |
Man Utd don’t win | – £20.00 + £19.16 = £0.84 loss |
So, regardless of the result of the match, we will lose £0.84 in qualifying for our potential free bets.
Free Bets:
For each goal that Manchester United score in the game, we will receive a £5.00 free bet, up to a maximum of 2 goals scored.
Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of the promotion ending and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not included with any returns.
By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of any free bets as cash. Therefore, if Manchester United were able to score 2+ goals in the game, we would receive £10.00 in free bets, from which we would extract £8.00 cash. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.84, this gives us a potential profit of £7.16 on this NetBet offer.
* Manchester United scored 1 goal in the first 90 minutes of the FA Cup Final, meaning I made a profit of £3.16 on this NetBet offer. *
