It’s the Champions League Final 2016 on Saturday night and NetBet are getting in on the action! Simply bet £20.00 on either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid to win the game in 90 minutes and NetBet will give us a £5.00 free bet for each goal that is scored for the team we bet on! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £7.22 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
We must opt-in on the promotion page to be eligible for this offer.
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.
It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it on the Match Betting market (1X2 FT). Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on the favourites, Real Madrid.
I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.
We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.62…
Place £20.00 on Real Madrid @ 2.55 = Potential profit of £31.00
Lay £19.62 on Real Madrid @ 2.62 = Potential profit of £31.78
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Real Madrid win | + £31.00 – £31.78 = £0.78 loss |
Real Madrid don’t win | – £20.00 + £19.22 = £0.78 loss |
So, regardless of the result of the match, we will lose £0.78 in qualifying for our potential free bets.
Free Bets:
For each goal that Real Madrid score in the game, we will receive a £5.00 free bet, up to a maximum of 2 goals scored.
Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of the promotion ending and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not included with any returns.
By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of any free bets as cash. Therefore, if Real Madrid were able to score 2+ goals in the game, we would receive £10.00 in free bets, from which we would extract £8.00 cash. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.78, this gives us a potential profit of £7.22 on this NetBet offer.
* The score was 1-1 after 90 minutes, meaning I made an overall profit of £3.22 on this NetBet offer. *
