Paddy Power Offer – Barcelona v Bayern Munich

It’s time for another fantastic Paddy Power offer!  Simply place a single bet of £20.00 or more pre-match on Barcelona v Bayern Munich and Paddy Power will give us £10.00 in free bets to be used in-play.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.33 and here’s how…

Paddy Power Champions League

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it at the minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2) or above.  Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Barcelona and we can calculate our lay stake by using the matched betting calculator.

paddypower

Place £20.00 on Barcelona @ 1.75 = Potential profit of £15.00

betfair

Lay £20.35 on Barcelona @ 1.77 = Potential liability of £15.67

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

Barcelona win +£15.00 – £15.67 = £0.67 loss
Barcelona don't win -£20.00 + £19.33 = £0.67 loss

So regardless of the result of the match, we will lose £0.67 in qualifying for our 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets.

Free Bet:

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the match has kicked off but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% out of the 2 x £5.00 free bets as cash, so £8.00.  If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.67, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.33!

My advice is to wait until half-time to place your free bet and then lay it at the betting exchange.  This is simply because the odds don’t fluctuate as much as when the game is live.  There’s nothing worse than placing your free bet on a market and then something happens in the game that changes the odds before you have chance to get your lay bet on!  I tend to look at the correct score markets first and then if I can’t find anything suitable I move onto goal scorer markets.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

is there any profit possible with Betsafe’s price boost, they have boosted Barcelona to win and both teams to score from 3.25 to 5 ?

Can’t find a lay market for this one Dan so I’d leave it unless anyone can think of another way?

have you seen marathon bet, they have a market for both teams to score and the result, giving multiple options?

Good spot Dan, grab the price boost at Betsafe and then back it not to happen at MarathonBet!

It should be there Terry. Have a look under ‘Price Boost’ in the left-hand menu.

So should I just put back odds 5 and lay odds 1.45 in2 the calculator?

No that’s not the way to go Terry as they are both back bets. You would need to crunch the figures and work out which stakes give you equal profit. Difficult to say without knowing what your Betsafe stake was.

been in touch with live chat and they have said for that market the “no” option on marathon that both options have to not come in.

This seems very strange as in that case your betting a double for under 2.5 goals and barca not to win and they are giving odds lower than for either outcome individually?

That can’t be right. Surely it’s yes that will happen or no it won’t?

what they said to me was both for the bet for example of barca to win and both to score would be at odds 3.05 on marthon, then the no option was 1.38. but to win on the no bet both outcomes would have to come in which was stupid because you could get better odds on just barca not to win or both not to score individually.

My bet got paid out fine Dan, so they’re talking absolute nonsense. It’s frustrating that we don’t feel able to have any faith in what we are told via live chat. It would really help if they knew what they were talking about!

Eventually worked out the numbers. can’t believe it was that simple, hopefully it comes up again and that the marathonbet side of thing is just a no for either thing to happen.

That’s good it worked, but shame that Dan was wrongly advised, great find from him though. Did any of them limit u? Coz it looked extremely profitable if not.

Yeah that sort of customer service just isn’t good enough. Great stuff from Dan. I was limited to £22.00, as I was with the Chelsea/Man City double at the weekend.

thats so frustrating i was on live chat for 40 minutes telling the advisor it didn’t make sense and should pay out as long as either event doesn’t happen. Even got them to check with a trader who said the same. Turns out they are both wrong and as it did pay out for one of the two outcomes being a “no”. Will know for next time anything like this comes round again. Shame the reason i didn’t place the bet was because i checked with live chat!
