Paddy Power Offer – Juventus v Barcelona

It’s time for another fantastic Paddy Power offer!  Simply place a single bet of £20.00 or more pre-match on Juventus v Barcelona and Paddy Power will give us £10.00 in free bets to be used in-play.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.18 and here’s how…

Paddy Power - Juventus v Barcelona

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it at the minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2) or above.  Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Barcelona and we can calculate our lay stake by using the matched betting calculator.

paddypower

Place £20.00 on Barcelona @ 1.615 = Potential profit of £12.30

betfair

Lay £20.19 on Barcelona @ 1.65 = Potential liability of £13.12

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

Barcelona win+£12.30 – £13.12 = £0.82 loss
Barcelona don't win-£20.00 + £19.18 = £0.82 loss

So regardless of the result of the match, we will lose £0.82 in qualifying for our 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets.

Free Bet:

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the match has kicked off but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% out of the 2 x £5.00 free bets as cash, so £8.00.  If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.82, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £7.18!

My advice is to wait until half-time to place your free bet and then lay it at the betting exchange.  This is simply because the odds don’t fluctuate as much as when the game is live.  There’s nothing worse than placing your free bet on a market and then something happens in the game that changes the odds before you have chance to get your lay bet on!  I tend to look at the correct score markets first and then if I can’t find anything suitable I move onto goal scorer markets.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

Nice spot Jim. The lay odds at Betfair on a 3-2 Murray win are currently 7.60 so a straightforward back and lay returns just under £4.00. Get on it guys!

Anyone else unable to get the Paddy Power in-play betting screen to open to place the free bets? Just kept timing out for me. I suspect their website just had too much traffic to cope. I’ve contacted customer support about this but not had a reply yet.

My first reply from customer support was apologetic but didn’t offer any recompense. I complained about that and they have now given me two free £5 bets to place on any event. So, to anyone else that couldn’t get their bets on, keep pressing them if they try to fob you off and they’ll hopefully cough up.

Ended up better for me than having to toss about with in-play betting at Paddy’s crappy odds. And I actually made a few quid profit on the qualifier as I dutched it with an Asian Handicap +0.5 at 188bet, who had a 10% winnings boost offer on the game.
