It’s Russia v Saudi Arabia in the World Cup 2018 opener on Thursday and you don’t want to miss this Money Back Special from Ladbrokes! Simply place a bet on selected markets for Russia v Saudi Arabia and if our bet loses, Ladbrokes will give us our money back as a free bet, up to £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £5.76 and here’s how…

The Terms:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

The eligible markets for this offer are First/Last/Anytime Goalscorer, Correct Score and #GetAPrice. If our bet loses, Ladbrokes will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Wednesday 13th June 2018 and 16:00 (kick-off) on Thursday 14th June 2018, to be eligible.

Qualifying Bet:

Losing stakes are refunded as a free bet, so this is effectively a risk-free offer. We therefore need to select something with long odds. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on 2-1 Russia in the Correct Score market.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the biggest guaranteed profit.

We can work out our lay stake by using the ‘Risk-Free Bet’ setting on my matched betting calculator. We can enter £8.00 as our ‘Cashback’ figure as this is the amount we can expect to extract (80%) from our £10.00 free bet, should our bet lose…

Place £10.00 on 2-1 Russia @ 9.50 = Potential profit of £85.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £7.92 on 2-1 Russia @ 11.00 = Potential liability of £79.20

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

2-1 Russia + £85.00 – £79.20 = £5.80 profit
Not 2-1 Russia - £10.00 + £7.76 + £8.00 (extract 80% from our £10.00 free bet) = £5.76 profit

So, regardless of the outcome, we’ll make a guaranteed profit of £5.76 on this Ladbrokes offer!

If our selection loses, our free bet will be credited within 24 hours of our qualifying bet being settled. Free bets will be valid for 24 hours and free bet stakes will not be returned with any winnings.

If you’re unsure how to extract around 80% cash from a £10.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

* Russia won the match 5-0, resulting in a profit of £5.76 on this Ladbrokes offer. *

  1. Sully

For future offers like this, could you post up whether the ‘price boosts’ offered by the bookmaker at the time of placing the bet, make the offer void or not?

    1. Maverick

I asked live chat this question about this particular promotion and they advised.. “You can place bets with odds boost and would still qualify to the promotions.”

      1. Matt

        Thanks for confirming Maverick.

    2. matchedbet12345

yeah ive never had an issue using a boost on ladbrokes or williamhills and promotions for what its worth

    3. Matt

I tend not to include that Sully as the bookies don’t always make it clear in their terms whether or not price boost bets are eligible. If you’re ever unsure, it’s probably best not to take the boost.

  2. Rich

How long does it normally take for Ladbrokes to credit free bets? Still awaiting mine from yesterday’s game

    1. Matt

They’re usually pretty quick Rich. If you’ve still not received it, you might want to question it on live chat.
