Sky Bet Free Bet Offer – Manchester United v Liverpool

Another fantastic Sky Bet free bet offer.  If Manchester United beat Liverpool, Sky Bet will refund all losing First/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on that match as a free bet up to a maximum of £25.00.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £9.52 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

We need to select a scoreline that isn’t a Manchester United win.  This ensures that if United win, we will automatically be eligible for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost.  Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted for a 1-1 draw.

skybet

Place £25.00 on 1-1 draw @ 7.00 = Potential profit of £150.00

betfair

Lay £20.47 on 1-1 draw @ 8.6 = Potential liability of £155.57

Let’s have a look at our current potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

1-1 draw +£150.00 – £155.57 = £5.57 loss
Not 1-1 draw and Man Utd win -£25.00 + £19.44 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £14.44 profit
Not 1-1 draw and Man Utd don’t win -£25.00 + £19.44 = £5.56 loss

So as things stand we will make £14.44 profit if Manchester United win.  Unfortunately, we also stand to lose a maximum of £5.57 on any other result and so we need to insure ourselves against this by laying a Manchester United win at Betfair.  We need to divide £5.57 by 0.95 in order to factor in the 5% commission.  This gives us a lay stake of £5.86.

betfair

Lay £5.86 on Man Utd @ 1.84 = Potential liability of £4.92

Let’s have a look at our resulting potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

1-1 draw -£5.57 + £5.57 = £0.00
Not 1-1 draw and Man Utd win £14.44 – £4.92 = £9.52 profit
Not 1-1 draw and Man Utd don’t win -£5.56 + £5.57 = £0.01 profit

So if Manchester United beat Liverpool, we will make a nice profit of £9.52!  If United don’t win, we will break even and there’s no harm done.  If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £25.00 free bet refund, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.
