Sportingbet Free Bet Offer – Man City v Man Utd

A rare Sportingbet free bet offer!  If Manchester City beat Manchester United, Sportingbet will refund losing correct scores, first goalscorers & scorecasts, as a free bet up to £25.00.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £11.34 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

We need to select a scoreline that isn’t a Manchester City win.  This ensures that if City win, we will automatically be eligible for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost.  Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted for a 2-2 draw.

Place £25.00 on 2-2 draw @ 13.00 = Potential profit of £300.00

betfair

Lay £21.74 on 2-2 draw @ 15.00 = Potential liability of £304.36

Let’s have a look at our current potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

2-2 draw +£300.00 – £304.36 = £4.36 loss
Not 2-2 draw and Man City win -£25.00 + £20.65 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £15.65 profit
Not 2-2 draw and Man City don’t win -£25.00 + £20.65 = £4.35 loss

So as things stand we will make £15.65 profit if Manchester City win.  Unfortunately, we also stand to lose a maximum of £4.36 if they don’t win and so we need to insure ourselves against this by laying Manchester City at Betfair.  We need to divide £4.36 by 0.95 in order to factor in the 5% commission.  This gives us a lay stake of £4.59.

betfair

Lay £4.59 on Man City @ 1.94 = Potential liability of £4.31

Let’s have a look at our resulting potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

2-2 draw -£4.36 + £4.36 = £0.00
Not 2-2 draw and Man City win £15.65 – £4.31 = £11.34 profit
Not 2-2 draw and Man City don’t win -£4.35 + £4.36 = £0.01 profit

So if Manchester City win, we will make a nice profit of £11.34!  If they don’t, then we will break even and there’s no harm done.  If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £30.00 free bet refund, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.
