Stan James Offer – Man City v Liverpool

Man City host Liverpool in the late kick-off today and Stan James are getting in on the action. Simply place a £20.00 bet on the Match Betting market for Man City v Liverpool and if our bet is a winner, Stan James will give us a £5.00 free bet. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £3.32 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 09:00 on Thursday 16th March 2017 and 16:30 on Sunday 19th March 2017, to be eligible.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Man City.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using the matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.71…

stan james logoPlace £20.00 on Man City @ 2.05 = Potential profit of £21.00

smarkets whiteLay £19.71 on Man City @ 2.10 = Potential liability of £21.68

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Man City win + £21.00 – £21.68 + £4.00 (extract 80% of £5.00 free bet) = £3.32 profit
Man City don’t win – £20.00 + £19.31 (£19.71 minus 2% commission) = £0.69 loss

So, if Man City win, we’ll make a nice profit of £3.32, otherwise we’ll have made a small loss of £0.69. Risking £0.69 to make a profit of £3.32, gives us effective odds of 5.81, so given that the odds of Man City winning are only 2.05, this is a profitable offer in the long run.

If eligible, our free bet will be credited within 48 hours and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not returned with any winnings.

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% cash from a £5.00 free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
