BoyleSports Offer – US PGA Championship 2017

The US PGA Championship 2017 gets underway on Thursday and BoyleSports are getting in on the action! Bet £20.00 on the US PGA Championship Outright Winner market and BoyleSports will give us a £2.00 free bet every time our player scores a 2. They’ll also refund losing stakes as a free bet up to £20.00, if our player finishes 2nd or 3rd, including ties. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £14.39 and here’s how…

Qualifying bet

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

The first group of players will tee off at 12:20 on Thursday 10th August 2017.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Dustin Johnson.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

You can find The Open Championship market via the following link trail…

Smarkets > Golf > PGA Tour > PGA Championship 2017

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £18.77…

BoyleSports logo

Place £20.00 on Dustin Johnson @ 15.00 = Potential profit of £280.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £18.77 on Dustin Johnson @ 16.00 = Potential liability of £281.55

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

D. Johnson wins + £280.00 – £281.55 = £1.55 loss
D. Johnson doesn’t win – £20.00 + £18.39 (£18.77 minus 2% commission) = £1.61 loss

So, regardless of who wins the tournament, we’ll lose a maximum of £1.61 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free bets

We’ll receive a £2.00 free bet every time Dustin Johnson scores a 2. We’re also eligible to receive a free bet refund up to £20.00 if Dustin Johnson finishes 2nd or 3rd, including ties. The maximum amount of free bets we can receive across the two offers is £20.00.

Free bets will be credited within 24 hours and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of our £20.00 free bet as cash, so £16.00. If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £1.61, this gives us a potential profit of £14.39 on this BoyleSports offer!

* Dustin Johnson scored a 2 twice and finished outside the top 3, meaning I made a profit of £1.59 on this BoyleSports offer. *
