Coral Offer – Ryder Cup 2016

The Ryder Cup 2016 tees off this afternoon and you don’t want to miss this Coral offer! Coral will give us our money back as a free bet up to £25.00, if our pre-match win selection is leading after 9 holes, but fails to win the match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an overall potential profit of £100.00+ and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

This offer is available on all 28 Ryder Cup matches taking place between Friday 30th September 2016 and Sunday 2nd October 2016.

To qualify, we must place a £5.00+ pre-match Win Single bet at odds of 1.20 (1/5) or greater on any of the 28 matches. Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Thursday 29th September 2016 and the last singles match tee-off on Sunday 2nd October 2016.

If our selection is leading after 9 holes, but fails to win, Coral will refund our bet as a free bet up to a maximum of £25.00.

Having looked at the odds available for Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Mickelson/Fowler.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on Mickelson/Fowler @ 2.50 = Potential profit of £37.50

smarkets white

Lay £25.20 on Mickelson/Fowler @ 2.50 = Potential liability of £37.80

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Mickelson/Fowler win + £37.50 – £37.80 = £0.30 loss
Mickelson/Fowler don’t win having lead after 9 holes – £25.00 + £24.70 + £20.00 (extract 80% from stake refund) = £19.70 profit
Mickelson/Fowler don’t win having not lead after 9 holes – £25.00 + £24.70 = £0.30 loss

So, if Mickelson/Fowler don’t win, having been in front after 9 holes, we will make a nice profit of £19.70. If, however, Mickelson/Fowler do win or they’re not leading after 9 holes, we’ll have made a small loss of £0.30. Risking £0.30 to make a profit of £19.70, gives us effective odds of 66.67, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

This offer is available on all 28 Ryder Cup matches and it’s entirely up to you which selections you go for. I’ll update the following table over the next couple of days with my selections…

Match Selection Back Odds Lay Odds Profit/Loss
Mickelson/Fowler v McIlroy/Sullivan Mickelson/Fowler 2.50 2.50 – £0.30
Walker/Z.Johnson v Garcia/Kaymer Walker/Z.Johnson 2.50 2.56 – £0.89
D.Johnson/Kuchar v Pieters/Westwood D.Johnson/Kuchar 1.727 1.71 + £0.04
Fowler/Mickelson v McIlroy/Pieters McIlroy/Pieters 2.00 2.06 – £0.98
Walker/Z.Johnson v Rose/Wood Walker/Z.Johnson 2.10 2.18 – £1.18
Patrick Reed v Rory McIlroy Patrick Reed 2.90 2.84 + £0.20
Jordan Spieth v Henrik Stenson Henrik Stenson 2.10 2.12 – £0.50
J.B. Holmes v Thomas Pieters Thomas Pieters 2.10 2.18 – £1.18
Rickie Fowler v Justin Rose Justin Rose 1.909 1.98 + £18.86

If we don’t hit any winners, we’ll make a small loss, but with £100.00+ in potential profit up for grabs, this offer is well worth a shot!

If any of our selections lose, having lead after 9 holes, our free bets will be credited within 24 hours of our losing bets being settled and will be valid for 48 hours. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

* As you can see from the table above, I made an overall profit of £14.07 on this Coral offer. *
