Genting Bet Offer – US PGA Championship 2017

The US PGA Championship 2017 gets underway on Thursday and Genting Bet are getting in on the action! Bet £25.00 on the US PGA Championship Outright Winner market and Genting Bet will give us a £1.00 free bet for every birdie (or better) our player makes during the tournament. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £8.34 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed before the first tee-off, which is scheduled for 12:20 on Thursday 10th August 2017.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Rory McIlroy.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

You can find the US PGA Championship 2017 market via the following link trail…

Smarkets > Golf > PGA Tour > PGA Championship 2017

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £23.31…

Genting Bet logo

Place £25.00 on Rory McIlroy @ 8.00 = Potential profit of £175.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £23.31 on Rory McIlroy @ 8.60 = Potential liability of £177.15

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

McIlroy wins + £175.00 – £177.15 = £2.15 loss
McIlroy doesn’t win – £25.00 + £22.84 (£23.31 minus 2% commission) = £2.16 loss

So, regardless of who wins the tournament, we’ll lose a maximum of £2.16 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

We’ll received a £1.00 free bet for every birdie (or better) Rory McIlroy makes. Free bets will be received within 24 hours of the final day’s close of play. Free bets will be valid for 3 days and must be placed at odds no greater than 5.00 (4/1). Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

If Rory McIlroy can make 14 birdies (or better), we’ll receive a £14.00 free bet. By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 75% of our £14.00 free bet as cash, so £10.50. If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £2.16, this gives us a potential profit of £8.34 on this Genting Bet offer!

* Rory McIlroy made 14 birdies (or better) and didn’t win the tournament, meaning I made a profit of £8.34 on this Genting Bet offer. *
