Betfred Offer – Greyhounds Bet 3 Get 1 Free

Posted by Matt (administrator) Thu, Dec 8, 2016 10:12am Matt
Start Time: 08/12/2016 18:28

There’s a big evening of greyhound racing tonight and you don’t want to miss this Betfred offer! Simply place a bet on 3 or more separate evening races from Belle Vue, Henlow, Hove, Monmore and/or Newcastle tonight and Betfred will give us a free bet to our average stake, up to £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £17.00 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed at minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2) or greater, to be eligible. To qualify for the maximum £25.00 free bet, we must place bets totalling £75.00 across 3 separate evening races from the following greyhound meetings taking place tonight (Thursday 8th December 2016)…

Racecourse First Race Last Race
Hove 18:28 21:22
Monmore 18:33 22:00
Newcastle 18:39 21:17
Henlow 19:31 22:26
Belle Vue 19:39 22:18

We will need to lay our bets for this offer on the Betfair Exchange.

NOTE: The liquidity for greyhound racing does not improve until approximately 5-10 minutes before the race starts. You should therefore only do this offer if you’re comfortable with that. If you’ve not done a greyhound offer before, you may just want to observe the changing odds or at least use lower stakes until you get the hang of things.

We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator.

Betfred LogoAim to lose no more than £1.00 on each of our 3 qualifying bets

So, we will lose approximately £3.00 in qualifying for our £25.00 free bet.

Free Bet:

Our £25.00 free bet will be credited by 11:00 on Friday 9th December 2016 and will be valid until 09:00 on Saturday 10th December 2016.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of each £25.00 free bet as cash, so around £20.00. If we take into consideration our total qualifying loss of £3.00, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £17.00 on this Betfred offer.

Well done anyone who can do this – no liquidity at all on Betfair at 3 mins before the off at Monmore. Furthermore Bettered still showing SP until about 2 minutes before start. You have about 1 minute of liquidity in which you’ve got to place your bet, work out your lay stake and place it (by which time it’s lay odds have changed anyway). Dangerous nonsense.

  2. Ben

This is worth doing. Losing only £1 per bet it optimistic though. £2-£2.50 is more likely and the odds can change quickly, so take the first price you’re comfortable with, rather than waiting for the price to hit bottom.

  3. Barry Dennis

I think it is better to follow Belle Vue and Henlow cards. Both are televised so will get more interest. Also try a bit later in the night.
Most people are still coming home from work or having food to be betting on the 18.33 from Monmore.

  4. Richie1

Well, I’m a newbie and managed this. Lost £6.24 over the 3 races. Sure enough, that was stress at the highest level!!

  5. Joshua

Lost £25 as the lay-off bet on betfair was slightly too late – very dangerous.

Graham you have to act really fast – I’d recommend you set up your own calculator on Excel, or split your browser screen in half, so that the left side has a calculator page loaded up and the right side has the betting sites.

I personally did the Belle Veu 19:39-20:10 races. Awful liquidity, managed to get on in the final 2-3 mins of each race though. Total qualifying loss £7.10 (~£2.37 per race). Assuming I can extract 60-80% of the free bet (depending how bad the odds are), that’ll be £7.90-£12.90 profit. Still decent.

All done with a 64p loss.On one race I backed and laid @ 2.5/2.5 without using the calculator.Worked out level loss/profit exactly. If you can get a back/lay at say 4/4 or 5/5 you don’t need to waste time working out your lay bet, just whack the £25 on quick as you will only lose under £1 on each race.

  8. Jack

Only £1.63 loss over the three bets.

  9. Ali

First time at this so only did £10 stakes (great advice Matt, can see this going wrong for the less experienced of us) but, by some miracle, managed £0.34 qualifying profit.

It’s not nonsense Graham, you just need to target the right races.

You have all night to get 3 bets on and layed so no need to target the early races at the “worst” meeting of the night. Like someone has said, certain meetings will be priced up in advance at the bookie and you simply have to learn to deal with late-forming, fast moving exchange markets however best you can.

You don’t have to do every offer either, so if you can’t crack this one then just leave it an move onto the next one mate 😉

Tony – you don’t have all night when Betfred it still showing ‘SP’ 2 mins before the race instead of actual odds.

  11. BigTone123

Betfred are going to love me. I picked the winner in all 3 races lol

    1. RDYMXDKONKRETE

LOL – BigTone123 – I would leave Betfred alone for awhile if I were you. To those people who managed to do this – how shortly before the race did it show actual odds? I kid you not – 2-3 mins it was still showing ‘SP’ for me.

      1. BigTone123

I actually missed the lay on my second race and it won, so overall I come out of it pretty good. The odds literally show a few minutes before the race begins. Like I said, I missed one but thankfully it won at the bookies. Think i’ll give tonights offer a miss lol
