It’s Day 1 of the Aintree Festival 2018 today and it’s time for another Sky Bet Money Back Special! If our horse finishes 2nd in the 13:45 at Aintree, Sky Bet will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £20.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £13.76 and here’s how…

Qualifying bets must be placed between 14:00 on Wednesday 11th April 2018 and 13:45 (race-off) on Thursday 12th April 2018, to be eligible.
Qualifying Bet:
It’s entirely up to you which horse you go for, but it would make sense to select a horse with fairly short odds in the hope of a 2nd place finish.
Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Brain Power.

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.75…
Place £20.00 on Brain Power @ 4.00 = Potential profit of £60.00
Lay £19.75 on Brain Power @ 4.10 = Potential liability of £61.22
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
| Brain Power wins | + £60.00 – £61.22 = £1.22 loss |
| Brain Power places 2nd | – £20.00 + £18.76 + £15.00 (extract 75% from our £20.00 free bet) = £13.76 profit |
| Brain Power finishes outside top 2 | – £20.00 + £18.76 = £1.24 loss |
So, we’ll make a nice profit of £13.76 if Brain Power places 2nd and we stand to lose a maximum of £1.24 on any other outcome. Risking £1.24 to make a profit of £13.76 gives us effective odds of 12.10, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.
If eligible, free bets will be credited within 24 hours of the race ending and will be valid for 3 days.
