If our selection wins at odds of 4/1 or greater, Bet365 will give us a risk-free bet on the next live ITV race. The risk-free bet will be equal to our qualifying stake, up to a maximum of £50.00.
The back and lay odds will tighten as we get closer to each race starting. In the meantime, I’ll use fictional odds for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle in the following example to illustrate how this offer should be done.
Let’s say we want to select Bunk Off Early at back odds of 6.00 and lay odds of 6.20…
We know that if our bet wins, we’ll get a £50.00 risk-free bet on the next race. We would just need to bet £50.00 using our own funds and if it loses, Bet365 will refund our stake in cash. We can therefore expect to extract around 80% cash from any risk-free bet we are eligible for.
With that in mind, we can simply add 0.80 onto our back odds of 6.00, to get our effective back odds of 6.80. We can then enter these effective back odds into the matched betting calculator to get our overlay stake. By overlaying, we are able to guarantee ourselves a profit on any outcome.
I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission, in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges. Remember, we pay 0% commission on the first race each day with Smarkets!
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £54.84…
Place £50.00 on Bunk Off Early @ 6.00 = Potential profit of £250.00
Lay £54.84 on Bunk Off Early @ 6.20 = Potential liability of £285.16
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

So, regardless of the outcome, we’ll make a guaranteed profit of £4.84.
We won’t be able to find a profitable match on every race and even when we do, some will be more profitable than others. With 20 eligible races though, we should be looking at a risk-free potential profit of £50.00+ on this Bet365 Cheltenham 2017 offer!
It’s worth mentioning that when placing a risk-free bet, if our selection wins, we’ll qualify for another risk-free bet on the next ITV race.
