Dafabet Cheltenham 2017 Offer – Money Back if 2nd

Cheltenham Festival 2017 gets underway on Tuesday and Dafabet are getting in on the action! Simply place a bet on the selected Cheltenham race each day and if our horse finishes 2nd, Dafabet will refund our stake as a free bet up to a maximum of £50.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £150.00+ and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

This offer only applies to bets placed (at odds of 1.50 or greater) on the day of each respective race as follows…

Race Time Date
Champion Hurdle 15:30 Tuesday 14th March 2017
RSA Chase 14:10 Wednesday 15th March 2017
Ryanair Chase 14:50 Thursday 16th March 2017
Gold Cup 15:30 Friday 17th March 2017

This is a decent offer as the selected races have some of the smallest fields at the Festival. Having said that, I would still advise only getting involved if we can find some tight odds.

The back and lay odds should tighten up as the start of each race draws nearer. In the meantime, I’ll use fictional odds for the Champion Hurdle in the following example to illustrate how this offer should be done each day.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity in the run up to races, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £49.02…

Place £50.00 on Yanworth @ 4.00 = Potential profit of £150.00

smarkets logo

Lay £49.02 on Yanworth @ 4.10 = Potential liability of £151.96

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Yanworth wins + £150.00 – £151.96 = £1.96 loss
Yanworth finishes 2nd – £50.00 + £48.03 + £40.00 (extract 80% from £50.00 free bet) = £38.03 profit
Yanworth finishes outside top 2 – £50.00 + £48.03 = £1.97 loss

So, if Yanworth finishes 2nd, we’ll make a nice profit of £38.03, otherwise we’ll have made a maximum loss of £1.97. Risking £1.97 to make a profit of £38.03, gives us effective odds of 20.30, which I’m sure you’ll agree makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

With four eligible races to look forward to, this gives us an overall potential profit of £150.00+ on this Dafabet Cheltenham 2017 offer!

If eligible, our free bets will be credited by 09:00 the following day. Free bet stakes are not included with any returns. If you’re unsure how to extract 80% cash from a £50.00 free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

I’ll update the following table with my actual selections at the end of each day…

Race Selection Back Odds Lay Odds Profit
Champion Hurdle Petit Mouchoir 9.00 9.20 – £1.97
RSA Chase n/a n/a n/a n/a
Ryanair Chase Un De Sceaux 2.75 2.84 – £2.21
Gold Cup n/a n/a n/a n/a

* As you can see, I made an overall loss of £4.18 on this Dafabet Cheltenham 2017 offer. *
